how strange
I planned on clicking back to facepunch's front page but instead I flinched for no reason whatsoever and clicked on this thread by accident
god does exist.
I guess but what I am saying is that Buddhism is a thing in the mind. Eliminate suffering by rejecting the existence of an independent self, accepting life. Christian "philosophy" is just ignoring science and thinking God is controlling everything, or at least has utmost authority.
Indeed it is possible to be a Buddhist Atheist or Buddhist Muslim.
No it isn't because Buddhism is a religion. There is Buddhist philosophical ideas you can follow, just like even Atheists and Agnostics in the west sometimes follow Christian philosophical ideas.

Example please?
Example please?
Well, actually, I think almost any atheist in the west is an example. Since most of us have grown in a Christian Culture all of those philosophical traits have in a way rubbed onto us. Stuff like Love Thy Neighbor, Turn the Other Cheek, Forgiveness, all that shit.
You know, being a Christian doesn't actually make you disbelive scientific facts. I myself am one and I am at harmony with every scientific advance there has been, yet I am an orthodox believer. Despite what contradictions you see between the two, when really looked at, there is nothing that we have discovered to this date that disproves Christianity in whole or part. I have found that many atheists who don't actually study science themselves, consider themselves smarter because they are on the 'smart' side. I doubt most atheists have the scientific background or philosophical education to back up any of their premises about the incompatabilities. Most hear tidbits of information, mostly from militant atheist organizations, that they comingle together into some ignorant air-tight argument, that when stood against a Christian who has done the research their premises fall apart. Such is the case with tonnes of Christians as well. Please, before you start spouting your intelligent reasonings for 'knowing' that God cannot exist, make sure you can back up your argument.
tl;dr... Atheists and Christians should do research for themselves, lest they use tidbits of info from their respective parties and collaborate an argument with more flaws than its worth.
Great Odin's Raven, so far this thread has had no posters but idiotic atheists and mumbling "I believe in science too!" Christians.
"Move on with your lives, someone believing in god (Or not believing) isn't going to effect your daily lives."

Wrong.
So religious people have something in common with people with defective brains?
Interesting.
well we are at "peace" in our minds then. even though i dont feel very peaceful right now
Example please?
Homophobia and standards of modesty are two good ones.
This reminds me of that quote, "On the first day man created God."

there has been a lot of shit that has been proven false in the Christian's sacred book
It's probably linked to the same area of the brain as imagination.

Yea and that has probably influenced Christianity and the Bible. However, our culture is based on Christianity to a great extent. Values that are "Christian" end up being rubbed off onto even non-religious people.
A lot of people get the wrong idea about us because of the religious fanatics.
A lot of people get the wrong idea about religion in general. Some of them get it right though.
I'm probably the most chilled out religious guy out there. I believe in God, but I also believe in equal rights (Gays, Lesbians, etc.) and I don't go around shoving my religion down your throat. If it comes up in topic, I'll be like, "Yeah, I'm religious, so what?" It's really no big deal. A lot of people get the wrong idea about us because of the religious fanatics.
Most people are like you.
