That's because they haven't had their country ravaged.

because they aren't being shelled or bombed by their enemies. the us has waged offensive wars in numerous other countries. a war on the korean peninsula would, no doubt, be much different to the wars waged across the middle east.
If NK attacks SK, SK will be ruined. Even though it's likely they will win the war, they will be financially obliterated. Quite simply they do not have the economic stability to sustain a war with anyone.
Why would they be "financially obliterated", can you back your statement?

The United States employ military in other continents and not at a full scale frontline war, the wars are fought elsewhere and not on homeland. Furthermore the economic will not be as damaged as when you fight a war on your territory. Also the US has considerable more powerful economy than SK which is right next to NK, if there would be a war. The economy would still collapse.

Here we go again...
Everyone should read this report about a scenario if NK attacks Seoul. Very detailed and informational:

This makes me feel better. (To an extent)
maybe they have some ace up their sleeve that we don't know about.
Imagine it: missiles flying randomly all over the goddamn planet because they have no guidance systems, malfunctioning and crashing into the ocean, prematurely exploding way up in the atmosphere- assuming they even launch successfully in the first place.:v:

Neat, you always have great articles pertaining to life inside NK, the one on the abuse of prisoners was a real eye opener.
you guys honestly think NK will stand a chance against the U.S alongside the rest of the world?
I'm not worried one bit.
Did I just read that.
Edit:
Are you autistic
Well, today is a sunny day in Washington so I knew something must be going bad somewhere

I'm not sure if I posted that article :v:
But I've read it and yeah, it definitely is an eye opener both how North Korea works, and how little the world seem to care about the things that happen down there.

Brilliant plan actually, the entire fleet of f-35s would be grounded!
Going to post this again:
North Korea is not going to be an easy country to beat, stop shitting on them. They have one of the largest militaries in the word. They have over A MILLION active military personnel, and are capable of conscripting six more million whenever shit goes south. They have stockpiles and stockpiles of tanks and artillery, the latter of which is aimed at Seoul ( So, in the end, the capital of South Korea WILL be blown to smithereens, many will die, and it will take years to repair and rebuild. ) They also have something like twenty nuclear silos, and we know they can shoot at least as far as Japan, meaning they can at will destroy South Korea. We don't know if those warheads can be intercepted in such a short distance.
Secondly, the North Korean military strategy and regime and just about everything is designed to counter the United States. They KNOW they have crappier equipment, and so they have designed tactics to circumvent that. Their propaganda statues are positioned at main roads to be destroyed and used as road blocks, they have bomb shelters in their apartment building, on and so forth. USA can't just NUKE them, nobody would let them, they would be killing countless of millions of innocent oppressed people. As for air superiority, sure, but - . . . Technology doesn't win in the air all the time, either. Serbia shot down supposedly 'invisible' American spy plains with old Russian equipment, probably as old or older than what North Korea has.
In finality, that'd be the bloodiest, cruellest war since WW2, and none of you should be looking forward to it. Millions will die.
Why would they be "financially obliterated", can you back your statement?
Perhaps I have a talent for overstatement, but South Korea's economy is, while strong, vulnerable. If NK was able to - and I think it is, although I might be wrong - destroy key financial centres that would doubtless be a target, the past years of economic and industrial development would be gone even if Seoul was left relatively intact. Their dependence on international trade would be a problem, too, given that trade is hard when you're at war.
I'm starting to wonder if this is a distraction from another form of attack. Why bloat so much and not just attack?
I'm starting to wonder if this is a distraction from another form of attack. Why bloat so much and not just attack?
Because they have a huge ego and want people to pay attention to them, I'd wager.

Yes, but we all know it's gonna happen someday.

Provoking in hope of someone else throwing the first stone.
Come on, Kim. I would prefer to go to school and not be drafted into the military to die in some god forsaken hell hole.
I'll bring the tea!
I'll go around saying that phrase to every person I meet, with the hopes that one of them will be you and we'll be battle bros.
There goes my imagination...
The real thing I worry about is if the NK has enough nuclear material to launch some dirty bombs into Souel.
What the fuck is there to worry about? South Korea could wipe them out in a heartbeat. Stop worrying so damn much about nothing. They're the dingleberry on China's ass. Not to mention the fact that their ground troops are just as starving as the rest of them. Their pilots get like 4 hours of training per year on shitty MiGs.
maybe they want to put a downer on the release of HOTS? Maybe Un got beaten in a game on live TV or something
Because they live in a fantasy world.
That strikes me as a rather naive point of view.
Actually, all this stuff that's been happening regarding North Korea has gotten me thinking.
How much do we in the Western World truly know about North Korea? Not a whole lot, they're very secretive. Western governments and media use every opportunity they can to promote the image of North Korea's government as volatile, easily angered, and dangerously unpredictable. All the news we've heard from that country lately seems to go further towards confirming that.
But what if we look at it from another point of view? What if the people making the big decisions in North Korea were rational, cunning men? If we can't find any reason at all for them being so agressive, could they truly have been provoked to the degree that such a response was justified? If they WERE being secretly harrassed, as they so often claim, why would the anyone believe them when the rest of the world sees them as the bad guys?
Would I put it past Western governments to secretly harrass, threaten and menace North Korea? No.
This seems to be a possibility, even if unlikely.

regardless of how long it lasts, seoul is gunna get mauled with artillery.

Read my post on the previous page and open up that thick skull of yours.
Why is everyone so damn worried? It's just a bluff to get someone mad enough to cast the first stone at them. If it isn't a bluff, we'd have NK covered by the time they even set a launch date.

Everyone knows NK will lose, that isn't the issue. The issue is what damage they do prior to, if they do something NK is like a cornered dog, they will probably throw out all logic(like they have been doing) and go all out regardless how many soldiers are lost, many SK civilians and troops WILL be killed. Not to mention a bunch of brainwashed soldiers who don't really know what they are fighting for
