at this rate duke nukem forever will be out first!
HAH. :colbert:
What.
One of the team members said if they doesn't release in 2009, he'll eat his shoe.
Well that figures. I guess the Black Mesa Source developers are on Valve Time :sigh:
Well that figures. I guess the Black Mesa Source developers are on Valve Time :sigh:
That'd be fitting though
It does.
Oh right, cool.
We are gamers, men. We waited for Duke Nukem, Spore and we can wait for this.
Duke Nukem never came out, and Spore turned out to be a hideous bastardized shadow of what it could have been. Blammo.
One of the team members said if they doesn't release in 2009, he'll eat his shoe.
Omelette shoe frumage.
:arghfist::frown:
They truly are designing games like VALVe
But you have to remember that this is just a mod team, they aren't in it for the money and they certainly aren't as organized, expansive, or professional as Valve is. Most mods that are conceived die anyways. It's incredible that the project is still going strong after so many years.
.
More like Black Mesa : Forever.
Going to be delayed in december 10
weren't there a bunch of fags in the black mesa thread saying it wasn't dead and they were going to release 2009
They truly are designing games like VALVe
Totally offtopic but this is really beginning to bug me. It's Valve, not VALVe. That's just how it looks in the logo. Proper capitalization is Valve.
It won't ever come out
Well hey they're doing it for free. Feel free to lose interest, but they're not obliged to do anything for anybody. I'm still interested but I've stopped anticipating it. I'll be stoked when it's out though, it looks really good. But I don't understand why people would give them shit for having not finished remaking an entire game with a small team, for no money. They do have lives like regular people (I can only assume).
I know, I'm not trying to give them shit or anything, or saying they should have released it by now. It's just been so long since I heard anything about it that in the back of my mind I assumed it was never coming out, like Duke Nukem Forever or that Infinity MMO. I'm surprised it even had a release date at all for it to miss.
I'm so surprised. I mean, after all the other delays I would never except them to delay it again. I pretty much lost all interest in this mod ages ago.
I would be happy if they said some really far away release date like November 2010, as long as it was DEFINITELY released on that date. I hate devs who constantly delay, or just say "it's done when it's done". That's not a response, that's a copout. If you don't know how long it's going to take just give a really far away date, but have it finished by then.
Not surprising. Huge mods are next to impossible to produce, let alone on any kind of schedule. People working for free are flaky, and the more people you have on a team the harder it is to meet a deadline. I'm pretty impressed that they've come as far as they have, actually.
This is taking the same path Dystopia did. Most of the big source mods have faded into obscurity. I think this is going to be one of the last, if it is ever released.
shit, I don't mind it's delayed. I'd much rather have a finished mod over an unfinished shitty one. but it makes me a bit angry because they were very confident on the 2009 date.
But you have to remember that this is just a mod team, they aren't in it for the money and they certainly aren't as organized, expansive, or professional as Valve is. Most mods that are conceived die anyways. It's incredible that the project is still going strong after so many years.
There's a Deus Ex mod called The Nameless Mod thats development went on for seven years, and it still fully released this year. Don't give up hope. Just give it another year, people. Then again, there's still that side to me that's utterly shrieking GOD DAMN YOU LYING FUCKERS WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! :ssj:
I can wait. The longer you wait the better the end product, valve have tought me this many times before.
2022: ME: "Hey guys, you remember that Black Mesa: Source mod that was supposed to come out in 2021?" FACEPUNCH: "They postponed it to 2022. Who plays on computers now anyway?"
Yes, making jokes about it being released 11 years from now are so fucking hilarious. I for one can wait for this mod to be finished. It'll probably come out early 2010, IMO at least. I wouldn't bet on it, but it seems like it.
Holy fucking shit! I'm so surprised by this!
20 years from now
nice math
nice math
I wasn't specifically talking about the post above me, but I might as well change it so it doesn't bother anyone.
even the news bots beat you to it. I'm shocked. But yeah i think EVERYONE saw this coming.
Apparently Valve time effects modifications to it's games too...
I think we'll get it late 2010.
It will be out when Ep3 Comes out... Yeah! Thats Right NEVER!
