I think he's a great actor ( has been since Even Stevens ) and the paper bag appearance was probably a set-up promotion for his #IAMSORRY thing.
He could be doing a lot dumber shit. He could not be doing anything at all too. I'll never understand FP's general poor opinion on some celebrities and then loud circle-jerking over others.
Jesus christ these celebrities need to grow up and a pair. If I was famous I'd use it to my advantage rather than do stupid shit like this.
He is using it to his advantage. He used his fame to get a fuckton of attention from that bag stunt, and is now directing the lingering attention to a performance art piece.
For those who haven't seen this already. The music video by Sigur Rós he starred in.

This video is really good, made me appreciate his acting a lot more when it came out.
Why do people keep saying he's a bad actor?
He's not that bad. In fact I've seen a lot of scenes where he acts very well.
Just me?
He's a good actor but to be fair he's not really been in many good films. Not until recently, at least. The Transformers films are one of the biggest jokes in recent Hollywood. Eagle Eye was a really boring and generic movie. Indiana Jones' son that never existed until the tacked on fourth film was a role that was never gonna be well recieved.
Lawless is his best film to date and he was really good in it, I really enjoyed his performance in that. All of his upcoming stuff looks promising though. Judging from the trailer Charlie Countryman actually looks very good, I'm REALLY excited for Nymphomaniac (But Lars von Trier is one of my all time favourite directors, however Shia does interest me a lot in it), there's not a lot about Fury out yet but it's by the guy who did End of Watch which was great and it stars Brad Pitt so yea. should be good.
I do think he's on the rise tbh, he's becoming a more serious actor/artist (probably the latter in his mind), his career interests me a lot and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on him.
[editline]12th February 2014[/editline]
also he did a lot of good stuff as a kid which lots of people forget. Even Stevens, Holes, he was even in Freaks and Geeks for a few episodes (as the mascot) and was great.
the only issue I have with this is that it feels a little too close to an Abramovic piece, but maybe that's the point considering she's the big name in performance art currently

No, I agree as well.
I'm still unconvinced that this won't turn out to be another Joaquin Phoenix situation.
If you go and read the rest of the article its actually a pretty neat public art display

Abramovic has been a big name for a while now, especially since Tumblr ( attracted to the more romantic bits ) blew her up quite a bit outside of the usual community.
I'm excited to see what's gonna happen from 11am to 6pm.
shia, stop being serious and go back to your comedic white-trash roots. the transformers movies have robbed you of your passion and your soul, find who YOU are, not who transformers is
At least he apologized for indiana jones
much better performance than in transformers.
i can think of much worse actors that many people praise
shia lebouf is a lot of fun. why u guys hatin

I'm still baffled how many people took each and every plagiarism tweet seriously like they thought he was genuinely trying to say things without getting caught for plagiarising stupidly famous quotes
No one cared who I was until I put on the mask.
If I pull that off, will you cry??!!
I'm still baffled how many people took each and every plagiarism tweet seriously like they thought he was genuinely trying to say things without getting caught for plagiarising stupidly famous quotes
Those people walk around with a sign attached to their brain called "No fun allowed"
truly the next jaden smith
Is it bad that I genuinely like both Jaden Smith and Shia LaBeouf as actors.
Thread title reminded me of this:

Shia Leboof says he's sorry? Where have I heard that before?
hashtag in the exhibit name
confirmed for god-tier art, he is assuredly going to revolutionize society
“I have two more questions for you,” I said.
No reply.
“Are you really Shia LaBeouf?”
The bag moved. I thought he was smiling. Then I looked at his eyes. They were red and watery.
“Can you give me a sign that you’re really Shia LaBeouf?”
And that’s when it happened: LaBeouf reached up and took the bag off his head. He looked miserable. I’m pretty sure he had been crying.
We sat there silently for a few seconds, staring at each other. And then I asked my second question.
“Can I take your picture?”
Nothing.
“I know I’m not allowed to, so I’d like to get your permission.”
Nothing.
“OK, I’m gonna to take it. You can stop me if you don’t want me to.”
Nothing.
So I raised my iPhone and snapped a photo of LaBeouf’s famous, unmasked face.
Goddamn, man.
What is going on in his life jesus.
Regardless of how weird it is, I'd be keen on going down and checking it out. Probably a really interesting experience.
I'd feel bad if this whole thing ended in a suicide, everything that's been a scandal would have been a cry for help. :(
I dunno, I mean I want to hate him, but since this whole I can't help but want to see what he does next, so I can have another chuckle to myself at a later date
He's just plagiarizing that time Joaquin Phoenix made everyone think he was crazy
It's a shame, he's a decent enough actor.

i want to feel bad but picturing the interviewer saying and doing that while lebeouf sits there crying makes me chuckle
Okay I thought the guy was miserable and I almost felt sorry for him but now I'd be surprised if this wasn't fake.
