• War Z forum mod gets demodded and his account banned, releases dirt on The War Z

The devs seeming so incompetent is my main issue here and will definitely be the downfall of this game. Don't really care that it's just a change in the War Inc. engine. The Arma 2 engine is the main reason I can't deal with Dayz so that issue doesn't really speak to me.
completely different, yet both have zombies in them
they're pretty much the same, but one is a buggy, near-unplayable mess with a boner for "realism" and the other is a cashgrab
Seriously guys we've had this discussion in the War Z thread like 5 days ago, and you're just only catching up to it, do you honestly think a moderator from their forums, a player and not a dev at that, who was chosen by them, has that kind of information given to him? Cashgrab or not, as long as they keep delivering I'm ok with it.
Not entirely true. http://www.firstpost.com/topic/person/the-game-warz-refunded-how-to-get-a-refund-video-Z7qjag4mkSQ-48466-4.html
I'm on the phone to a French woman and she thinks when I say '2' I'm saying '0'. This is going to be hard.
I really wouldn't be surprised the devs were stupid enough to relay info like that to moderators, let it slip or one of them saying something he shouldn't have in a chat or something
Oh great. Apparently I can't get a refund because I paid through PayPal. Wat
@latin_geek; His forum account is his responsibility.
Oh great. Apparently I can't get a refund because I paid through PayPal. Wat
Are you kidding me? I paid trough paypal aswell...
Are you kidding me? I paid trough paypal aswell...
Yeah, they said Xsolla couldn't refund me because I paid directly through PayPal. Despite the fact that Xsolla is listed as the payment on my confirmation email. I am confused.
I had to pay through paypal at the beginning because there fucking credit card system only worked for US users I believe it was.
I'm not surprised though, they've given a lot of refunds in the past few days because of the reason in the OP, which is like the stupidest reason one can have for getting a refund. IMO they should only give refunds to people who haven't played more than 10 hours or so, the game was not that expensive to begin with and we just got an update yesterday, people should know the concept of alpha before buying stuff. Being banned for no reason or not being able to play the game because it just doesn't run properly are examples of refunds for a good reason, most other reasons are not good.
I paid through paypal, and i refunded without any problems.
I paid through paypal, and i refunded without any problems.
When did you buy it? I was told it was because I ordered through PP before the 15th..
Totally unrelated, but there's working emulator servers for warz... I don't know what to think of that.
I spent 30$ on WarZ, played it for half an hour, then requested a refund (witch took a good hour because they kept trying to convince me to stay) glad i got the fuck out of that shitty game and got my money back, i'll continue to play the glorious DayZ
Well I'm glad I didn't buy this now on a friends recommendation
It's a crap cash in of the DayZ genre of games (Made by a dev team which isn't the same as those who made Dayz) which has frankly nothing good going for it.
No way to confirm how true this stuff is but I enjoy War Z. It isn't exactly anything new that developers reuse an engine for another game. By that logic our precious Valve only took Counter-Strike and added bots that hit you in melee instead of shooting at you. Which is actually how the idea behind L4D came to be. Bots with knives in CS.
Hello! Unfortunately your payment is not registered in our system, the War Z switched to our payment system on October 16, and your order was processed by a different company, thus we are unable to issue a refund, unfortunately we do not know what company processed your payment, we can recommend you to contact the bank for a refund. We hope your issue will be resolved
Ask a refund through paypal!
The problem is that you did recieve the product, so PayPal could close your account for attempting a wrongful chargeback. However, you could argue that as the game is a pre-order you have the right to cancel that pre-order prior to the release, but I don't really want to run that risk seeing as PayPal are notorious for screwing their customers over.

I tried opening a dispute, but paypal automaticly closed it...
I tried opening a dispute, but paypal automaticly closed it...
That's priceless. Oh well, I should have known the game would be this bad before ordering it. I'm not jumping on some bandwagon here, the game is literally unplayable because of the hacking situation. The developers are seemingly making zero effort to combat the problems with the hackers, and they obviously lied about the development. Features are being implemented too slowly, one of the most significant of which is the map. The map was purposefully limited, not for testing as they claim, but because it wasn't finished. Seriously, people have been able to get past the invisible wall and have seen that the rest of the map is just hills, with some buildings etc being slowly added after each update. I probably won't log in to play again, and I doubt that the game will ever be near completion. Right now it's just like any other generic FPS but with zombies, and if this latest story is true that will be the final nail in the coffin.

The fun part about that is, 2 of those got killed by someone just warping trough the walls, one by a person that I couldn't see, and two where a guy just speedhacked towards me and smashed me with a hammer, this game is amazing.
I stopped playing this game once the hacker problem got out of control.

Ended up with a bunch of guys calling themselves the Skull Gang, since they all wore skull masks. We went out and eventually ran into another group of roughly the same size and a fire fight broke out over loot.
Oh great. Apparently I can't get a refund because I paid through PayPal. Wat
Wrong. I just got a refund via PayPal from them. Literally an hour ago.
Wrong. I just got a refund via PayPal from them. Literally an hour ago. It's in my PayPal already!!
They changed the payment systems on the 16th. I bought it on the 14th, so I can't be refunded through Xsolla.
