Why would you bring anyone that is unvaccinated to disneyland? That's asking for trouble.
People here are just ignorant, stupid, and irresponsible as fuck, that's why. Then you also have that "It's not going to happen to me!" attitude on top of that and the fact that some people just don't give a damn.
How did the anti-vaccination thing even become a movement in the first place?
Basically what happened was this one scientist who wanted to become famous or as it is now, infamous, published a false research paper how vaccines cause autism. It got into the media in the UK and spread.
Eventually a couple of Celebrities in the US saw this shit and believed it, and influenced others with them being famous and all and now there's an idiotic movement pushing to ban vaccines all because of some jackass who wanted to be well known.

Didn't the guy who made those papers eventually admitted he wished he had never released them?

I doubt it. Wakefield has always defended his 'research' and claimed there was never any fraud.

I thought he did, but after looking into it it seems like he's defending his research to the bitter end.
Wakefield later implied that there is a conspiracy by public health officials and pharmaceutical companies to discredit him, including suggesting they pay bloggers to post rumours about him on websites or that they artificially inflated reports of deaths from measles.

I doubt anybody knows by today but my bet would be on subconscious irrational fear of injections paired with Big Pharma/Spooky Gubbermint/Illuminati thoughts in somebody.
Well its true! I had a happy christian family and way of life, until I got a "flu shot", turned into lizard folk and fled home to pray to Mecca!

What an asshole.
Combined with the stupidity of the people who believe him is a great source for problems
I know there's a lot of people with autism on facepunch, so I don't mean to offend anyone. But vaccines have been proven to cause autism and If it was my child I'd be staying far away from them until at least teenage years.

No, spreading the autisim spectrum caused people to be labled with autisim more. Wheres the proof at all that vaccines cause autisim and even then, why gamble with a very small risk that is non life threatening over diseases that cause permanent damage or death to your kid and others?

So you're anti-gun, don't like disabled for some reason, anti-police, anti-space and now you're anti-vaccines

they really just seem to be anti-good posts
I only had one of the two vaccines because of the autism scare. The nurse pretty much outright told my mother not to bother, so she didn't. I am fairly sure I had it in high school though as a catch up thing. It's not always the parents that are responsible, since my mother was told to not give me the vaccine by a health professional. Can't really blame her for doing what was suggested.
Anti-vaccination has been going on for a really long while but the modern anti-vaccination movement (that vaccines cause autism) began in 1998 when the UK medical journal titled The Lancet published an unfounded and since-debunked claim that the MMR vaccine causes autism, this idea spread like wildfire throughout the UK and eventually spread elsewhere. The rest is history.
Fun fact, The Lancet has a ton of controversies they've caused with the MMR vaccine controversy being the first and unarguably the most dangerous to public health and safety. How they still manage to stay afloat when they keep piling on new controversies every few years, I don't know.
It's pretty hilarious that it's stuck anywhere cause the anti vaccer thing is pretty much dead in the UK.
Actually, why dont we release some horrible horrible disease to the antivax lands so only they die but others are unharmed
Why would you bring anyone that is unvaccinated to disneyland? That's asking for trouble.
Saying something like that seems kind of mean.. Because there are those out there that have a serious medical reason on why they can't get vaccinated. Does that mean they shouldn't be allowed to have any fun because a bunch of anti-vaxxer idiots didn't vaccinate? :s
Herd immunity, and all.
But yeah, I can understand why you'd say that for an infant whose too young to even form cognitive memories of anything it sees or experiences there.

That's also a terrible thing to say because of those who cannot vaccinate for medical reasons. It's like saying "lol they'll just kill themselves" nooo, they're going to also affect the many many people who can't get vaccinations because it'll kill them or do permanent damage.
Ugh, the whole anti-vaxxer movement is a cancer and only brought bad things. Worst of all is that they succeeded in removing thiomersal from vaccines, its a presevartive, and this increased the cost of vaccinating children in poor high-risk areas.
And nut-cases will still deny their importance.
Why it isn't mandatory (besides health issues) is beyond me.
It's just neglect on all levels.
