As long as humanity exists,I don't mind living forever
Laughing at all these posters going on with their medical advancements and living forever. Even if that was possible in several decades, do you guys think it would be accessible to us, the general population? Hell no, that shit would be expensive as hell, only the rich could afford it. Earth's resources are strained as it is, last thing it needs is the general populous getting access to life-prolonging surgery.
I've never understood why anyone would find the concept of eternal existence comforting. Ever since I was old enough to truly understand what death is I've realized that while we pretty much all wish life lasted longer, life lasting forever would really really suck.
Indeed, because life is a constant struggle more or less. Afterlife isn't supposed to be challenging in that way, which is why it's called "afterlife". Would there be pleasure (or pain) in afterlife? Those are after all survival tools necessary only for motivating you to live.
My best friends are atheists and I've come to terms with it, I trust them with my life. I don't believe in a God because it gives me some sort of false hope I believe because I've seen things and felt things that you know are beyond our understanding. Sure science has some explanations but you're a fool to believe we're 100% correct about everything. I don't fear death nor will I ever, if we do really simply cease to exist how is that going to affect me if I cease to exist, are we meant to fear pain before death? That's just my opinion anyway, if I offended you by believing in something you don't please don't let me know. Cheers
White lies to comfort, dark deceit to control. If folks believe that there's already something afterwards, they don't go out screaming in terror at the dark truth of the universe, but if they fear that pain and suffering await folks who don't stay in line, they are more likely to keep in line since it would be impossible to rage against the universe without the universe slapping them back.
