sickening. its funny because in that thunderfoot "teach people not to rape" thread everyone was going "OH BUT WE DO TEACH PEOPLE RAPE IS BAD WHAT MORE CAN WE DO?" obviously we fucking don't because an entire high school basically said a drugged 14 year old was a skank who was asking for it. even the adults are saying "oh they were all drinking so it was obviously consensual." it's undeniable that there is a massive problem with how society looks at rape and we should be focusing on that instead of that "but women should be taking precautions!!" shit that was being flung around in the other thread. fuck this gay earth.
There were a few idiots in that thread arguing for the definition of rape to be more lenient when alcohol is involved. That sort of retarded opinion literally ruins lives. This thread is evidence. I hope maybe this article makes a few people get it through their fucking heads.
Reading the entire article Jesus Christ
The parent of one of the teens at the Barnett house that night was the only one to comment briefly to The Star: “Our boys deserve an apology, and they haven’t gotten it yet.” In a later interview, Rice called it a case of “incorrigible teenagers” drinking alcohol and having sex. “They were doing what they wanted to do, and there weren’t any consequences. And it’s reprehensible. But is it criminal? No.” Robert Sundell, who represented Barnett, echoed that sentiment: “Just because we don’t like the way teenagers act doesn’t necessarily make it a crime.”
Like come on
Really? That's funny, because I've lived in Missouri all my life, and I've never noticed that. Huh. Anyone who says that Missouri is some hellhole is extremely ignorant. We have our weirdos, yes, but not more than any other state. Also, Missouri is not a Southern state; we consider ourselves Midwestern.
Same here, I live in Southern Missouri and I've never heard of anything like this happening around here. As said earlier this is one of those football towns where the players are treated like gods that can't do any wrong and football games like the second coming of Christ. But I seriously wish there were ways of punishing towns for doing shit like this, maybe banning their football team from competing will do the trick?
After initially declining to speak with The Star this summer, Rice later agreed to an interview with a reporter who showed up unannounced.Sitting in his nicely decorated town square office — on one wall is a small collection of framed NMSU jerseys, on another is a framed photo of Graves — he defended his decision, calling the rumors of political favors a “total red herring."
totally no favoritism in play here people nothing to see move along
Sounds like any other state south of the Mason-Dixon line. I'd honestly not care if we just told those states to fuck off and sold them to Mexico.
Wooow fuck you too. Frankly i rather enjoy not being mexico so I'd be okay with not having Georgia sold to them.
Can we please have some system where victim-blaming douchebags like these rape-sympathizers get slapped in the face whenever something like this happens?
Reading the entire article Jesus Christ Like come on
Robert Sundell just said that rape isn't illegal. Ok, wow. If I'm reading everything correctly here, these two families had their daughters raped (and recorded, meaning there is physical evidence of said rape) and left nearly unconscious on the front lawn. After all of this, the scum get off with a slap on the wrist after all of the evidence was stacked against them?... How does something like this even happen? The Grandfather of the rapist should be fired immediately for this, and they should both be properly tried. It's textbook corruption at its fucking finest
Well I mean what did they expect, this is the kind of thing you should expect to see happen in a country like Ira- oh wait
I live about 3 hours away from this; missouri's not bad, like any state it has it's fuckin crazy ass rapists
Sounds like any other state south of the Mason-Dixon line. I'd honestly not care if we just told those states to fuck off and sold them to Mexico.
maryland and virginia are nice places you dick
India, Saudi Arabia, Middle East; am I the only one who expected Pakistan?
India, Saudi Arabia, Middle East; am I the only one who expected Pakistan?
I expected America
Yet, two months later, the Nodaway County prosecutor dropped the felony cases against the youths, one the grandson of a longtime area political figure.
I get so fucking mad at stories like this. How are people not rioting?
I get so fucking mad at stories like this. How are people not rioting?
Because they're too busy destroying the victim's life.
Sounds like any other state south of the Mason-Dixon line. This could pretty much happen in any small town in the US.
Missouri isn't the deep south state you think it is. This could pretty much happen in any small town in the US.
Missouri seems to always be that state that isn't quite "north", isn't quite "south", isn't quite "midwest". I've met one who says they're from one, another who says otherwise and so forth.
India, Saudi Arabia, Middle East; am I the only one who expected Pakistan?
I expected the US south, after Stuebenville or whatever I can't be surprised.
checks out
Missouri is in the Middle East. Outstanding.
checks out
They did technically join the confederacy. That makes them the South in my books.
Missouri is in the Middle East. Outstanding.
maps don't lie and what I have there is a map

You get those "southern raised" types pretty much anywhere rural you go. I've know people who identify themselves with Dixie when they have lived here all their lives. Like I said, this is really just a rural thing. [editline]13th October 2013[/editline]
They did technically join the confederacy. [editline]13th October 2013[/editline] Missouri was barely even a state at the time.
Northern and Southern Missouri were basically two separate states during the Civil War because we had two governments, one Union and one Confederacy. So basically we were both Union and Confederacy. But there really wasn't shit in Missouri at the time besides a few large towns on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. Actually I wouldn't really say Northern and Southern Missouri as most Confederate Sympathizers were probably focused around the big towns on the major rivers where the plantations were along with most of state's population at the time due to river boats, particularly around big cotton towns like Sikeston and Charleston.(Well maybe not Sikeston, but my parents said that Charleston used to be cotton town which is why there is so many nice Victorian-era houses down there)
damn, generalize much?
I've visited many southern states and many cities, both big urban and small rural ones. They're all backwards shit holes. Racism and hardcore conservative bullshit spewed everywhere, it's honestly terrible.

Go out to any town in the middle of nowhere in states like North Dakota, Montana, and maybe even Maine and you'll probably find a lot of places like that there too. Racism and radical conservatism isn't just a Southern thing because every state has shitholes like that.

No state is safe.
Holy shit I honestly came in here expecting a story from the middle east. Wow.

your guys' useless posts about how you expected this to come from a random country is not only symptomatic of your extreme ignorance and myopic view of other places in the world but also symptomatic of your extreme ignorance and myopic view of the issues that you face in your own countries
