If BF3 wasn't coming out I would probably buy it, but it's coming out, so no. :D
Oh boy I can't wait to shell out $60 for the same mediocre game I paid for last year!!!
You don't have to buy it. I know I won't. People feeling obligated to buy the games because they're a trend is what gives them the incentive to make more. [editline]21st February 2011[/editline]
http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/call-of-duty-black-ops/news/rumor-modern-warfare-3-will-be-a-prequel-starring-ghost/a-20110218151350921040/g-20100430155437473001 (maybe late) If it is true, then activision should go fuck itself. Ghost was a really dull character with almost zero personality apart from the "badass skull mask xD" thing. The only reason I would buy another CoD game is because I would like to finish the MW storyline (yes, I found it enjoyable, though I can understand if someone didn't like it)
Don't you mean Gaz? Because Ghost basically had the same personality, the same role, and even the same voice actor as Gaz (come to think of it he even died the same way). It seems rather than thinking up new ideas they decided to piss over all the good parts of CoD4 by making the exact same game over again in MW2, narrative integrity be damned when it comes to selling out. 'We need someone EXACTLY LIKE GAZ otherwise it'll be DIFFERENT and might not make as much MONEY and remember how fucking DOPE it was when one of the player characters died in COD4 well let's do it again 3 TIMES hell YES'
Everyone complains about how terrible Call of Duty is now. Yet Black Ops broke records with how many copies sold, if I remember correctly. I'm not saying that the number of copies sold equals a good game, but it equals a successful game in sales. I'm sure half the people in this thread already have Black Ops. Little bit hypocritical? Besides, not sure what the surprise it.. It's Activision, they milk everything :v: I might be the only guy in this thread to stand against what everyone else is saying, but screw it. Since MW1, campaigns have been a pretty fun and solid playthrough, although quite short. It's like watching a 5-6 hour cheesy action movie. It would be nice if they added more content, but the experience is fun while it lasts. They've been doing well with co-op modes lately, like Spec Ops mode in MW2 and Nazi Zombies in Black Ops and WaW. If they keep innovating the co-op experience, I'm not going to shit on the game. I don't think the series is boring or garbage, just recycled. Nothing wrong with enjoying recycled material. Everyone knows what to expect with multiplayer. We've all probably played it at some point. Just because you've "moved on to better things", doesn't mean others don't enjoy it. I think multiplayer gets a horrible name simply because the people who play it give it a bad name. Little, annoying kids that don't shut up on mic, xxMLGPrOXx idiots, and your friends who won't ever stop talking about it at school treating it like the best thing ever. All that crap aside, I still think its a fun experience, even if it is flawed in certain ways. /opinion
Yeah, the multiplayer was kinda bad, worst of the series, but the story was fun, albeit gibberish. [editline]20th February 2011[/editline] Actually, personally, the recent COD have been beautiful. The stories have been ridiculous and everything is scripted, but it looks great.
Hey guys, remember when the CoD games were a refreshing break from the rapidly declining MoH series, developed by a fresh faced new breakaway team? Remember how emotional, varied and fun they were? Yeah, that was fun. Oh yeah, the first CoD was a PC exclusive. Not saying there's a correlation between the consolization of the games and the hateful profitmon... wait, yes I am. That's exactly what I'm saying. It's certainly quite annoying that Activision's attitude to business seems to be a choice of two outcomes: a) Utter crowd pleasing, boring, unsustainable neutralization or b) Cancellation. Not even EA or Ubisoft is that bad. Hell, even Square Enix doesn't provoke the kind of annoyed dismay I feel when a new CoD game cmes out. The attitude 'don't fuck with a wining formula' is why a lot of people hate CoD. Just like Guitar hero, they barely innovate between games for fear of disturbing the formula, which might provoke people into not buying it. Now, I enjoyed Black Ops' story as much as the next man, mostly because I have a big oner for the vietnam era. However, that doesn't excuse the fact that it's so scripted it might as well be a rail shooter, devoid of replay value, and about 6 hours long. Not to mention the multiplayer being a boring rehash of MW2's multiplayer with some gimmicks added in to make it feel like buying the game is worth it. If people still want to buy he piece of shit, fine, but don't assign every FPS studio you have to the damn series, studios that are worth far more than just to be thrown at their all encompassing behemoth of a money sponge. The fact that activision are so concerned with their bottom line basically kills innovation, as they will only go after boring, formulaic shit that has been proven to be successful, rather than actually good games.
Damnit, hoping there wouldn't be another CoD game this year. Oh well. I'll likely just pick it up to play with friends in multiplayer.
Oh boy I can't wait to shell out $60 for the same mediocre game I paid for last year!!! Thanks Activision I love you so much <3
Then pirate it like everybody else.
Guys, quit acting like your obliged to buy the game when it comes out. Just ignore the game.
No. Robert Kotick is ruining the game industry. He makes all DLC the price of an indie game, hasn't lowered the price of MW2 (AKA the game that was made one and three fourths a year ago), and people are beginning to take his advice and make PC games cost the same as consoles.
