Holy fuck the youtube comments are littered with racism even the top comments are racist as shit
May I point out the guy was drunk? This was the day after St. Patricks Day (everyone here is concerned 3 weeks after it happened) and the guy could remember what happened after waking up in his hotel room. Something tells me that rich white guy who stumbles into bad neighborhood at 2 AM is probably going to get mugged.
I'm ashamed to be black.
I'm ashamed to be black.
No need to be. Racial attacks have been perpetrated against blacks for centuries. This is not exclusive to black people.
That's fucking sickening.
The fuck do you live in, the UK? His head hit the pavement, that's enough brain damage to kill him. Sounds like my old middle school on how to handle bullying.
By your logic, Zimmerman was justified in every way to shoot trayvon. I think zimmerman's head took a bit bigger of a beating than the guy in the video.
I'm ashamed to be black.
you shouldn't be ashamed of yourself for the actions of a few people
I'm ashamed to be black.
Don't be. The people in the video are idiots. On the other hand, those who for some reason generalize ALL black people because of things like this are the ones who should be ashamed.
By your logic, Zimmerman was justified in every way to shoot trayvon. I think zimmerman's head took a bit bigger of a beating than the guy in the video.
That depends if Trayvon actually assaulted Zimmerman and had Zimmerman hit his head on the pavement, which no one knows because all sorts of news companies keep popping up and making up some new evidence or witnesses saying "Trayvon attacked first!" or "Zimmerman attacked first!"
That depends if Trayvon actually assaulted Zimmerman and had Zimmerman hit his head on the pavement, which no one knows because all sorts of news companies keep popping up and making up some new evidence or witnesses saying "Trayvon attacked first!" or "Zimmerman attacked first!"
It doesn't matter who attacked first. My point is that both situations didn't require lethal force to be ended (and thankfully, nobody was killed in the mobbing). Guns would receive an even worse reputation if every unarmed attack ended with someone being shot, because that's not what guns are for.
But say he beat one of them, it would be a hate crime.
I'm ashamed to be black.
Good. How dare you be black. You should be ashamed of yourself.
You should know if he did pull a gun and shot one of them the black community would be out for blood even though it was their own who caused it.
This is exactly what would happen. If a crowd of whites got together to protest just as crowds of blacks got together for Trayvon, it would be called racism.
This is exactly what would happen. If a crowd of whites got together to protest just as crowds of blacks got together for Trayvon, it would be called racism.
yo probably because it would be a little more likely to be racist. social context is real. it is a thing that exists and it matters.
-snip- eh screw it, just throw the assholes in jail.
Anti-whi- Equality is fun!
*thumps head on desk* [editline]13th April 2012[/editline]
If a crowd of whites got together to protest just as crowds of blacks got together for Trayvon, it would be called racism.
what the fuck are you saying crowds of white people protest all the time [editline]13th April 2012[/editline]
So if I were to protest a group of black people ganging up on a white guy, call it a racial issue, which it most likely is, I'm more likely to be considered a racist just because I'm white? Isn't that, y'know, racist?
what would you be protesting for?
So if I were to protest a group of black people ganging up on a white guy, call it a racial issue, which it most likely is, I'm more likely to be considered a racist just because I'm white? Isn't that, y'know, racist?
there's nothing to protest. you don't protest crime. why would you do that? The Trayvon Martin shooting protests aren't about Trayvon being murdered; they're about the police not arresting or charging the person who shot him. I can tell you for a fact that if the Baltimore Police Department had the names of all of the people in this video they would be arresting them one after the other the next day. They knew Zimmerman shot Martin and didn't even bother to investigate it that deeply until the media got involved. That is why there is a difference between the two cases. There is nothing to protest there because that video isn't of a failure of the american justice system or some perversion of the values we expect our legal system to uphold; the video is of a random act of violence which is an unfortunate reality. Protest the systems which lead to the sort of poverty that causes violence like this, or protest the lack of police coverage that they weren't there to respond, but protesting the actions of some petty criminal isn't an action that makes any sense or will bring about any social or political change. [editline]13th April 2012[/editline] plus I think assuming that this is a racial issue is possibly racist. and I know for a fact that the youtube comments on that video are full of giant racists. and I know racists like to use sporadic incidences of black-on-white crime to support their racist beliefs. getting upset about this doesn't necessarily make you a racist. but the way that so many people are getting so upset about this and comparing it to the Trayvon Martin shooting even though they have nothing in common really reeks of racism.

So yeah, kindly disregard my last post, I didn't think it through all the way. And yeah, I meant protesting the lack of police coverage.
And yeah, I meant protesting the lack of police coverage.
do you just want the police to arrest random black people? just so you know the police in america tends to put more black people in jail, not less.

Fucking disgusting. Of course the dumb idiots filmed it. Now I just hope everyone involved goes to jail.
Emergency KKK meeting in Baltimore.
do you just want the police to arrest random black people? just so you know the police in america tends to put more black people in jail, not less.
No I'd like it if they just arrested the guys in the video. I didn't think I'd actually have to clarify that.
there's nothing to protest. you don't protest crime. why would you do that? The Trayvon Martin shooting protests aren't about Trayvon being murdered; they're about the police not arresting or charging the person who shot him.
But what if the exact same circumstances had come about, except Trayvon was white and Zimmerman was black?
No I'd like it if they just arrested the guys in the video. I didn't think I'd actually have to clarify that.
they can't just arrest random people, they have to like find out who they are, charge them with something, and get a warrant. [editline]13th April 2012[/editline]
But what if the exact same circumstances had come about, except Trayvon was white and Zimmerman was black?
hypotheticals don't mean anything and they don't prove anything
they can't just arrest random people, they have to like find out who they are, charge them with something, and get a warrant.
Where are you getting that I want them to arrest random people? I'm pretty well aware of the fact that they can't do that, nor do I want them to.
they can't just arrest random people, they have to like find out who they are, charge them with something, and get a warrant. [editline]13th April 2012[/editline] hypotheticals don't mean anything and they don't prove anything

The guy who led the attack is Aaron Jacob Parsons, according to Justin Fentin, who identified him on the Baltimore Sun article about the matter- as well as some of his accomplices. Fentin put links up to Parsons' Twitter, Myspace, and Facebook accounts up on Pastebin (along with some other stuff regarding the others involved): http://pastebin.com/n6hXsyZ8
Well, now they know who did it and now they can arrest the people in the video.
Where are you getting that I want them to arrest random people? I'm pretty well aware of the fact that they can't do that, nor do I want them to.
then how can you say you'd protest the lack of police coverage when there's no evidence of such a thing?? your protest might have not been racist but it would have been extremely stupid.
That was really hard to watch, what the fuck is wrong with people.
But what if the exact same circumstances had come about, except Trayvon was white and Zimmerman was black?
the exact same circumstances probably wouldn't have come about if Martin was white. That's the point.
