The friends were dicks, he did go a bit overboard with his drinking and that is basically it. I mean this thread is a bit weird. No one really cares how much you can drink or how much you used to drink, stories where you boast how much alcohol you can handle always come off childish and stupid. It is only fun if you are sharing your worst moments amongst friends or if you got wasted with a bunch of friends and you are reminiscing. No one in an online community really gives a fuck. On the other hand, who cares if you are sick of the "frat culture" or whatever. If you don't like to drink or if you don't think this drinking culture is for you then find yourself friends who also feel the same way and spend your time differently. And comparing party drinking or binge drinking with a night at the pub with a few friends is like comparing apples and oranges. You can drink like a madman for one night a week (or two weeks) and still have 6 perfectly good days. And you do realize these guys were celebrating the end of a semester right? I mean it was a celebration and maybe it got out of hand a little bit.
i have never in my life seen a pint glass in belgium
another reason to not live in belgium [editline]17th May 2013[/editline]
I take great offense to this. I am in a Fraternity and I can easily say that 99% of all Greek life is NOT like this. These guys sound like dicks to do that to their fucking brother. If I had alcohol poisoning I know my bros would get me proper care (IF I got to that point. We have people whose sole jobs it is to NOT let us get that bad. We would get sent home hours before anything like that happened.) Don't generalize because Its the majority of irresponsible guys like this particular SAE chapter who give the entirety of Greek life a bad name. We're already under enough scrutiny as it is. Also its Fraternity, not Frat. Saying Frat shows that you are ignorant of Fraternal customs and culture. I mean holy shit does this chapter do not have Risk Managers at all? A good Risk Manager would've shut down the shot contest when it was still an idea. Also my chapter raised $15k for ALS this year and spent over 200 hours of community service, and the chapter at another school to which I'm transferring to raised $30k for ALS, among community service and outreach programs. Being in a Fraternity is a lot more than you are generalizing it to be. Why all the funnies? I'm not being funny. Don't you also hate it when people generalize something you are apart of, and insult it, even going to say you "hate it"? Ok fuck it I tried, you guys don't like Fraternities.
omg
