And again, you will go to prison for voluntary manslaughter or murder.
And again, Texas is not like your shitty state
Also don't you live in Oklahoma? I heard some guy up there had charges of murdering a police officer and attempted murder dropped there due the Castle Doctrine defense after shooting the shit out of a SWAT team who pull that No-Knock bullshit on him
Not if you say you're a bad shot and missed, and the burglar ran away so you couldn't shoot him again. (Not that it was illegal anyway)
If he was running away than I have accomplished my goal. Well besides the whole him getting arrested thing.
If I saw he had a gun, I would kill him.
Good.
If I do not know what he is carrying, I will attempt to incapacitate him.
Wrong, do the thing below this unless they present a weapon
If he is obviously unarmed I will intimidate him and tell him to get the fuck out.
Good. You should do this for the second situation unless they present a weapon.

Always carry a brick with you, not just a gun. That way you can knock out the target without discharging the gun.
:v:
The persons itent doesn't matter, its whether or not they presented a threat to your life. If they kick down your door and then run off when you confront them, then they present no threat to your life, and you cannot shoot them.
On the other hand, if they pull a gun or a knife when you confront them, then they do present a threat to your life, and shooting them is totally justified.
Yeah, if you shoot someone who is fleeing from you, not only is it low, but it is also unlawful.

I would attempt to incapacitate him if he was openly hostile, if I saw him with his back turned in my living room I would tell him to get the fuck out.
so trying to leave equals getting shot
(plus any cop or true gun enthusiast knows that you are supposed to shoot for the upper torso)
I have no legal obligation to allow them to leave
Also when did you learn about centermass? also considering the extreme close range of such a encounter inside a house, why would I need to pull a centermass shot?

I am not risking getting right up on him with something as clunky as a brick. What if he whips out a knife and stabs me in the chest while I am trying to clonk him in the head with whatever piece of shit I happen to find?

It would be illegal for you to shoot him unless he actually attacked you (Unless thats what you meant by "openly hostile")

You throw the brick, silly.
And it was a joke anyway.
It would be illegal for you to shoot him unless he actually attacked you (Unless thats what you meant by "openly hostile")
If he is walking towards me and I have my gun/whatever out then I guess I can assume he has a blade hidden on him somewhere that he intends to use, so yes.
I have no legal obligation to allow them to leave

Center mass is always regarded as the zone of choice with the head as a second. Center mass is favorable since shooting someone there is the easiest to do and has a higher probability of killing them than shooting for the appendages.
You throw the brick, silly.

I was joking too. I carry a stun baton at all times.
If he is walking towards me and I have my gun/whatever out then I guess I can assume he has a blade hidden on him somewhere that he intends to use, so yes.
no
Somebody walking toward you is not an imminent threat.
I can assume he has a blade hidden on him
No, you cannot assume this, actually. Saying "I assumed he had a weapon" will not hold up in court.
no
Somebody walking toward you is not an imminent threat.
So does he want to give me a hug?
no
Somebody walking toward you is not an imminent threat.
Ehhhhh, if you threaten someone with a gun, and they walk at you, there's probably something wrong going on there.
Ehhhhh, if you threaten someone with a gun, and they walk at you, there's probably something wrong going on there.
I seriously doubt that "I pointed a gun at him and he walked slowly toward me" will hold up in court.
no
Somebody walking toward you is not an imminent threat.
No you come back to me and stop dicking with Denton
Why would I be charged with manslaughter for shooting a intruder in Texas?
And what about that guy in your state who shot a SWAT team and killed a police officer executing a no-knock warrant on his house and had all changes against him dropped?
So does he want to give me a hug?
Thats a tough one actually. Now that I think about that, you may be justified in shooting them if they come at you.
Ehhhhh, if you threaten someone with a gun, and they walk at you, there's probably something wrong going on there.
Exactly. So how should someone act in this situation? Lets imagine that he either has a hidden weapon that he intends to use or he's high/stoned and doesn't asses the situation completely.
And what about that guy in your state who shot a SWAT team and killed a police officer executing a no-knock warrant on his house and had all changes against him dropped?
Because lawyers.
No you come back to me and stop dicking with Denton
You're from Texas, which is a state with a shitload of ass-backwards laws. Arguing anything with Texans is boring.
I seriously doubt that "I pointed a gun at him and he walked slowly toward me" will hold up in court.
I obviously doubt that I will still be living if I let him continue walking towards me so I guess its a lose-lose eh?
I seriously doubt that "I pointed a gun at him and he walked slowly toward me" will hold up in court.
Thats pretty much a lose-lose situation honestly. I think you could regard them walking TOWARDS you if you threatened them with gun as a threat. Like denton said, they probably aren't walking at you to give you a hug.
You're from Texas, which is a state with a shitload of ass-backwards laws. Arguing anything with Texans is boring.
I'm actually from Yugoslavia, so fuck you
I seriously doubt that "I pointed a gun at him and he walked slowly toward me" will hold up in court.
I seriously doubt that he will end up in jail let alone court
Exactly. So how should someone act in this situation? Lets imagine that he either has a hidden weapon that he intends to use or he's high/stoned and doesn't asses the situation completely.
I really dont know what to say to that situation. Something tells me you would be justified in shooting them, but again, if they did turn out to be unarmed, it would be REALLY hard to argue in court.
Thats a tough one actually. Now that I think about that, you may be justified in shooting them if they come at you.
Actually, shouldn't they comply if you tell them to leave the house and if they don't you can shoot them?

Texas uber Oklahoma
Also give back Texas' stolen land you Oklahoman land thief
