score one for slavery
As Facepunch begins to eat itself. Slavery is over with, the majority of people absolutely do not believe in slavery and I've concluded any discussion about 'leftism' in this regard is in response to those who ask for reparation, blame people for slavery / demand forgiveness over the fact and white guilt. That is why you see opposition to this and that guy who got hammered up top. Unless he's just shit kicking.
i can't get hammered if i don't give a shit. it almost requires no effort whatsoever to ass blast someone with a different opinion here. but i worded my opinion horribly i'll admit and white guilt is a real thing i'll have you know
It acknowledges a minority, therefore it's filthy sjw revisionism according to /pol/
It just seems more like a branding thing in an age where everyone is trying to appeal to everyone else, taking your image of a white, scott-irish product and connecting an African heritage to it sounds like an appeal to minorities. Idk what the evidence is for both sides, but I'm guessing they don't have much more than second or third hand statements and possibly circumstantial evidence
If someone from New York goes to a civil war reenactment and plays the part of a confederate soldier has he succumbed to northern guilt
what kind of analogy is that
Wouldn't have expected this news story to offend so many people.
Wouldn't have expected this news story to offend so many people.
A few years ago, I wouldn't have either, but Facepunch is growing ever more conservative these days, especially in regards to anti-progressivism.
A few years ago, I wouldn't have either, but Facepunch is growing ever more conservative these days, especially in regards to anti-progressivism.
Are you referring to those people lovingly called regressives?
A few years ago, I wouldn't have either, but Facepunch is growing ever more conservative these days, especially in regards to anti-progressivism.
I wouldn't say all of Facepunch - it's a large divide, much like in real life. I've yet to really see an issue that wasn't very divisive on this forum. In this thread, you can see it's not all of Facepunch that's becoming more "conservative", just some people that have a more conservative stance in response to extremism. I think gun control creates a similar divide, with both sides responding to extremism.
Jack Daniel's is some foul stuff. I can't drink more than 2 shots without being immediately sick afterwards.
How is being butt hurt over this story being conservative it's literally racism Facepunch just used to have much more civilization discussions because we banned a lot more
A few years ago, I wouldn't have either, but Facepunch is growing ever more conservative these days, especially in regards to anti-progressivism.
That's a laugh and a half.
Wouldn't have expected this news story to offend so many people.
I would be surprised too if it werent mr kjerr.
If someone from New York goes to a civil war reenactment and plays the part of a confederate soldier has he succumbed to northern guilt
What? Seriously. What?
I don't really see how news stories about a myth that has a dude making a shit ton of money and a huge business on selling alcohol that a slave SUPPOSEDLY assisted in creating is anything to write home about. Literally nothing but a myth.
If someone from New York goes to a civil war reenactment and plays the part of a confederate soldier has he succumbed to northern guilt
If he reenacts being killed by Union soldiers while wearing a shirt that says "so sorry" then I guess that's what it would be yeah.
Who cares about this stuff though, i mean seriously, does anyone think about this while drinking it?
Who cares about this stuff though, i mean seriously, does anyone think about this while drinking it?
If you drink enough of it you can't think about anything.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/6CYu0We.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/PeHTF7f.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fpgukBk.jpg[/thumb] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifeline_Expedition
Like I said; White guilt is not a real thing and anyone who says otherwise is lying. The people wearing yokes and chains are liars, but really into it.
I wouldn't say that he was behind the whole thing, but I would say that he was a MAJOR contributor. Distilling is only a part of creating whiskey. However, barrel material, aging process, and other factors are crucial when it comes to whiskey.
How is being butt hurt over this story being conservative it's literally racism Facepunch just used to have much more civilization discussions because we banned a lot more
Yeah, not to get this whole thread off-track (was it ever on track? Can't tell), but the ban rate really seems to have gone down. Stuff that would warrant a racism ban a few years ago just slides now, and the ban lengths feel shorter.
Who cares about this stuff though, i mean seriously, does anyone think about this while drinking it?
no but it's a cool bit of history that's worth knowing about, especially since it highlights the achievements of an entire demographic in the face of prejudice, mistreatment, and abuse.
If someone from New York goes to a civil war reenactment and plays the part of a confederate soldier has he succumbed to northern guilt
Terrible analogy, they're wearing shirts that say So Sorry. I highly doubt it's because they want to set the historical record straight, they are definitely targeting millennials. Not sure why bring up this stance has people being called a racist, since when have the marketing teams of liquor companies become so trustworthy.

I thank whoever told me about the "SJW to skeletons" addon in the last thread like this. I now see its use.
What I find hilarious is nobody would have batted an eye at this story a few years ago, but recently a whole lot of not racist people seem to keep getting triggered by "millennial pandering" or "forced diversity," or in this case, being terribly upset by some marketing they supposedly don't care about.
Unfortunately, there are situations that prove these people right, so it's hard to blame them for assuming the worst at first. At the same time, though, Occam's Razor... sometimes, the facts are just the facts, no fishy journalistic fluff crap going on.
i loves me some leftist historical revisionism (User was banned for this post ("Trolling / Shitposting AGAIN" - Swebonny)) (User was banned for this post ("Trolling + ban history. Next ban is permanent." - postal))
how is this "leftist historical revisionism"??? Its literally just a guy stating "hey maybe this slave did it" and its whiskey. Its not like theyre saying "THE NORTH ONLY WON BECAUSE OF SLAVES" in the civil war. And how does sayin a slave may of done something make it leftist? I don't see it preaching about class inequality or something this post makes no sense in every way.
