Hasn't this been something they've known just never advertised? If anything not mentioning a slave had a hand in it is revisionism, not the other way around.
how is this "leftist historical revisionism"??? Its literally just a guy stating "hey maybe this slave did it" and its whiskey. Its not like theyre saying "THE NORTH ONLY WON BECAUSE OF SLAVES" in the civil war. And how does sayin a slave may of done something make it leftist? I don't see it preaching about class inequality or something this post makes no sense in every way.
It's mr kjerr. Not making sense comes with the territory.
It's mr kjerr. Not making sense comes with the territory.
he's a really, really obvious troll
Why is everyone saying "They're representing the truth that a black man was involved" or "It's historical revisionism to insert black people where they weren't involved"? It's literally just another myth about how the whiskey was made. They're not saying a slave did or didn't help create the whiskey, they're saying "Some people say he had help from a preacher, others say he had help from the preacher's slave." They literally don't know how the creation came about exactly and they aren't claiming otherwise. I don't see how this is newsworthy and I don't see why anyone would be upset about it.
What I find hilarious is nobody would have batted an eye at this story a few years ago, but recently a whole lot of not racist people seem to keep getting triggered by "millennial pandering" or "forced diversity," or in this case, being terribly upset by some marketing they supposedly don't care about.
Forced diversity and "millenial pandering" is a real problem that should trigger people. Might just be because I live in one of the most "progressive" countries on earth but people including government officials are going insane and the white guilt is real. That being said, I can't see why anyone would get upset about this case specifically, either it's true or false, so what?
A few years ago, I wouldn't have either, but Facepunch is growing ever more conservative these days, especially in regards to anti-progressivism.
Mind you in a lot of ways that's a reaction to radicalisation on both sides.
