All I can find in Steam's help is
"If you no longer have access to your email, or your phone, or you don't remember your recovery code, go to the Steam Support page and create a support ticket. Submit a question with "[Steam Guard]" in its Subject, categorized as "Account Questions" and then "Steam Guard/Email Verification." If you don’t have access to the email address that is currently associated with your Steam Account please provide proof of purchase within your ticket."
Oh man Steam guard isnt tied to my support account! Yessss, thanks!
also it seems to automatically turn sale and important info push notifications so if you don't want to be bombarded with that kind of thing go into steam preferences and turn it off
Oh man Steam guard isnt tied to my support account! Yessss, thanks!
your steam support account is completely isolated from steam accounts just for reasons like this
Fuck... Ive had this account since 2005. There has to be something I can do.
Contact support.
I wonder why it hasn't updated on Google Play yet. I may wait a few days and see if it does and if not I'll just use the other site to install.

staged rollout
google play feature
give it time and you'll get it :)
I wish there was a way to hide friend invites. I have about 300 of them so I have to either deny them all or I have to scroll down with my finger for a long, long time while viewing my friend's list which is already long enough.

Just deny them then. Are you collecting them?
Yeah this app simply doesn't work properly for me. Got a message on Steam while I was away from my computer for over and hour, no notification on mobile. I have it set to give me push notifications for all new messages.
I noticed the "background connectivity" setting is gone. What are the odds Valve forgot to include the one setting that makes their instant messaging app function as an instant messaging app?
Maybe in 2017
You mean when HL3 comes out
This is functionally worse than the previous version. Runs like complete and total shit, there's no more push notifications at all, it ignores priority mode in Lollipop.
I'm just gonna stick with Ice client. (Which, by the way, is fully open source before anyone goes "phishing, it'll steal my account!"
Welp looks like I'll be waiting until steam support gets around to replying to my ticket. There goes my account access for like a week.
So is the desktop client. I don't expect better from Valve.
At least with desktop you can install skins that look good. I switched over to Metro for Steam and never looked back.

Thanks bro
group chat support when
Probably never since this update broke the majority of the chat support it already had.
Of course the one time Valve decides to update something, they break it entirely. Do these fucking people have any QA at all?
Dunno about you guys but it runs better than the old one for me on a LG G2 (Pretty much the same specs as a Nexus 5) and it shows past chat history shared with my PC, I'm gonna have to wait and see if the notifications are actually coming through this time (they were massively delayed on the previous version, I'm talking 30 minutes to an hour late)
Call me old fashioned but I kind of liked having the Steam app be one of the few that doesn't needlessly completely redo its UI every version, and the old UI the mobile app had looked in line with the one the desktop program does.

Windows Phone version when?
Knowing how Valve works, someone over in Bellevue probably bought a new Android phone, realized how shit the app was and fixed it. Good on them.
Windows Phone version when?
Buying a Windows Phone and expecting first-party app support is just asking for trouble.
Wow, I might actually put this on my phone again. It was a buggy piece of shit and wouldn't let me close the app before. It would always turn itself back on, even if I killed the process.

and there go my hopes. At least I saw this, thank you!
If valve brought streaming to mobile it would be so dope
Why doesn't valve just turn the android app into an app store that relies on the quality control similar to before greenlight was a thing?
You shouldn't have to, it should respect your operating systems UX/UI and let that be the end of it.
Actually I think skin support is a great thing, since you can make it look just the way you want.
Yup no notifications at all. Congratulations Valve you turned an ugly messaging app into a slightly less ugly broken messaging app.
Cool, now Steam for Android is finally on par with the already outdated and shitty iOS app.

Well that's because the mobile hadn't received a an upgrade for years, literally. It's last update was when ICS was the latest and greatest.
The old ui looked better, shame they changed it.
Does anyone know how long it'll take to finally roll out onto google play?
Haha wow.
When sending chat, it likes to wait a few seconds before actually doing anything after pressing send. Throws me off every time. No such thing as "responsive" here.
Also, more importantly, I'm not receiving any messages at all (not just notifications), even though I am receiving the messages on my steam desktop (and able to send fine through the app, ignoring the delay), the app is not receiving ANY messages.
