Personally the single player looks heavily scripted and reminds me of the scripted nature of COD. Not really liking that so far, but I'd imagine the multiplayer would be incredible and mostly worth of a definite buy.
jizz all over my face..
Yeah and this will have multiplayer. Its not like SP is the bulk of it.
You don't get it.

What were you doing aiming it at your face?

Nevermind...
Buying this game just became an essential on par with eating and breathing.
oh fuck oh fuck i'm gonna be poor
The atmosphere in Battlefield seems really immersive so far. I can't describe it, but it's the sounds or the ambience or the echoes or something, they make it seem like this is real, this is what real soldiers do

It's the animations and the way the voices sound that strikes me as particularly realistic.
Nothing really good yet in my opinion, I don't see why everyone's getting so excited over some scripted events.
Would be better off if they showed us some Multiplayer first, that would be something to be excited about.

I just watched it again and yeah, I think it's the voices and the fact that you can hear urban noises in the background for me
Battlefield isn't for Singleplayer. It is for Multiplayer.
Well congratulations for immediately judging the game before even seeing how the multiplayer is like!
I like how the movement mechanics look sharp already. Just look at the crysis 2 leak, movement is still pretty flaky a month before release. DICE already has something as vital as movement nailed down half a year before release.
DICE cares.
The sniper segment seems scripted, but that small taste of destruction the video showed before it ended gave me a massive boner.

Then we had nothing to look forward to for at least 6 months. Nice knowledge of marketing there.
Also if they showed multiplayer in this pre-alpha state I bet you, as well as most of facepunch would also be complaining that DICE doesn't care/lazy/etc.

Oh my god everyone on RPS is using the phrase "manshoot."
While true, for some reason it infuriates me to see someone other than the RPS staff use it. Maybe its because I can just imagine one of them using that term to describe games in real life. Its would be on par with using lol in everyday situations.

Aaaand you don't get it either.
Crap, I'm running out of pants. I want this game so badly.
The audio in this game is amazing, the sounds of the sniper fire and bullets impacts made it actually feel intense.
What I am really liking from the clips is the pacing of the game. It's what I loved about MW and hate about MW2 and Black Ops. MW had a story that varied in pacing, but Activision thinks that for a modern game to be successful it needs to be 100% explosions. As fun as it is in the beginning, after playing through hundreds of climax moments they become boring. It's why I liked MW so much. The game had slow segments followed by very intense moments, and that's the vibe I'm getting with the SP of this game. You have the slow portions, and then you have the moment where shit hits the fan and explosions are everywhere.

And in my opinion this makes BF3 an almost definite purchase.
probably really late with this but.....
seeing the tremor in the other video made me hope for a full earthquake in the final game
This game has great audio and awesome graphics and i cant wait to play it.
Looks really nice graphically but I think the crawling animation looks weird.
Did anyone else hear those sounds from the newest Medal of Honor? It kinda pisses me off that they would recycle sounds and stuff.
Like how many companies including valve recycle props and sounds from games? Its kind of lame I know but it helps cut down on the time needed to complete the sound effects.
Also these may be placeholders.
At least one of those soldiers should be dead. That sniper had plenty of opportunity.
Wookies rarely get kills :v:
Aaaand you don't get it either.
Explain it then instead of just saying no one knows anything.
Wookies rarely get kills :v:
Oh good, I'm not the only one who thinks of them as Wookies.
I dunno about anyone else, but what I'd like to hear is a full version of the new theme they've been teasing in the trailers. It sounds almost like Terminator music to me.
If I had to pick one thing DICE is best at it would be sound design. The sound in Mirror's Edge, BC2, MoH, and this are like sex, and it's worth it just to run through Arica Harbour and masturbate to the glorious sounds of the battlefield.
This made me go play BC2, I can't wait for yet another perfectly balanced shooter from Dice.
So when I realized that some of those sounds during the rocket segment were actually the theme song slowly fading in, a grin just started spreading across my face...
I can't not smile when I hear any of that song's renditions.

If you've read the GI article, they describe this very level in it. It ain't called "Fault Line" for nothing.
