AvP 2010 was pretty good though i thought?

AvP was a pretty solid game, maybe not great but definitely deserving of at least playing if you enjoy the source material. It's definitely not as much of a butchered game as Aliens: Colonial Marines, I think we gave Rebellion too much shit for AvP 2010.
I liked AvP and it's nowhere near as bad as Colonial Marines, but for me it was one of those games I played through once because of all the fun things and then never replayed because of all the not-fun things. Rebellion seems to be like that- they have great ideas and good core gameplay, and then it gets let down by lack of polish and head-scratching design decisions, and they're wildly inconsistent in quality. Anyone who played the sheer terrible mess of a game that is Shellshock 2 knows what I'm talking about. That's why I'll wait and see how it goes before getting my hopes up.

Like, seriously. It's fucking beautiful. [editline]24th February 2015[/editline] If Irrational Games were still a big studio, I would have had them make a Judge Dredd game, mainly because of SWAT 4.
I really liked Nazi Zombie Army and Sniper Elite 2. The games are a tad railroaded but they are really fun for long periods of time and had interesting challenges of their own. I'd kill for a Dredd game
SE3 broke up from that formula quite a bit.
AvP 2010 was ruined because Sega rushed the release, you could see how much they had to cut corners with the short alien campaign, horrible netcode and how the PC version got dedicated servers (which were supposed to be at launch) some time after the release. It's a shame though, since the atmosphere in the game was completely nailed and Infestation was a blast online.[sp]AvP 2010 also had the best alien animations to date with full body awareness.[/sp] Rebellion is one of these hit'n'miss studios just like Monolith, who produce a lot of mediocre and license stuff but a gem every once in a while when the team seems to have enough motivation for the project.

Oh god please do Imagine a Dredd game with some ballistic mechanics from SE3, it would be awesome.
i wonder if the (non sniper rifle) gunplay will be just as bad as sniper elite 2 and 3
It was bad because you weren't supposed to use them lmao
It was bad because you weren't supposed to use them lmao
That's no excuse for a part of the game to be unbearably shitty The guns sounded like airsoft and were practically useless, and the problem is the weapons you used were viciously effective during WW2. While you're not encouraged to use them, yes, it's no excuse to make them completely unsatisfying and useless. If you're not supposed to use them, they shouldn't be a part of the game.
In this game, you can arrest people for being fat. 10/10 would play again. :v:
I loved how the charge was never explicitly "for being fat" but instead drew a random charge/sentance from a unique pool of fat-crimes. "obstructing public walkways- 6 months"
"This rampant consumerism makes my skin crawl"
If you're not supposed to use them, they shouldn't be a part of the game.
But then we'd have people bitching about having to occasionally kill people in close quarters with only a sniper. If they were satisfying to use, they'd be overused.
