Netflix is still more inconvenient than Torrents, but has a much lower barrier of entry which gives an advantage for most people.
I disagree. With torrents I need to worry about downloading the right version, and then wait for it to download, and then worry about seeding it for my ratios. With Netflix I have a decently good quality version streamed in an instant with no fuss.
Sickbeard.

Also if you're worried about your ratio you're obviously on a private tracker which won't have wrong version, nice try :downs:

Like I said, for most people Netflix is the easiest solution. If I wanted to use netflix I'd have to download a package that sets up firefox running in wine with the silverlight plugin - no thanks I'd rather just open them in VLC cheers.
I doubt these numbers are true.
Why would so many people pirate a game that no one has heard of?
Because this dumb game is called Gentleman! which is name of dumb song of dumb korean singer. dumb russian and chinese people think that this game has something to do with the song and they download this dumb shit from shady websites.

To be fair, you didn't say for most people. Alongside that, Netflix has a lower barrier of entry because most people would likely have a hard time browsing torrent sites, finding one that's safe, and then using a torrent client to download it and open it. Paying monthly is easier for a lot of low tech people. Plus most people use Windows or Mac, and very few use Linux comparatively.

I know FacePunch usually gives the OP a miss but come on.
And how the hell does he know how many people have pirated it?
A lot of android apps run Google Analytics, showing how many unique devices are using it, and where.
Compare those numbers to the sales numbers through the play store backend, and unless those 144 people have 348 android devices each, you can be pretty certain there's a large amount of piracy going on
"The number of pirates just confirmed to us that we made a game that people love to play," he writes. And 95 percent of the pirated copies went to Russia and China — countries he'd barely considered when selling the game.
This is interesting. Hopefully they'll be able to sell to these markets in the future.
