Not disputing that, I was just pointing out that horrifically painful conflict happens everywhere in nature, and actually by comparison to what I just posted, being ran over then beaten to death was probably rather painless given that his nervous system probably would've crashed after being hit by the car.

Yep, it's because of the personal element attatched to it. Most news posts don't happen anywhere near most FP members, so they feel free to act completely detatched from the situation. The OP added a personal element by stating he lived near the guy. FP can be the most hypocritical place at times.
