EVE is the kind of game that I feel would be perfect for my kinda tastes in games, especially since I love the space sim genre.
Sadly the whole "spend literal years before you get to anything good" really puts me off, plus I hate grind based gameplay.
It seems like in the coming years they will be addressing these issues though without cutting out that style of gameplay for those that enjoy it. I'd love to be an assassin for hire or something who boards space ships, etc. Or a grunt for a human commander in a fleet. Or a miner who is able to make some serious cash and does really engaging gameplay that doesn't take hours to do.

Except that, you know, you're able to do almost anything within 24-48 hours (real, not gameplay).
48 hours is how much time it took me to get my first kill (proper ambushing, not some pussy noob-scamming bullshit) on a newly created character.

Might get into EVE just to do this.
It will give me an incredible amount of satisfaction.
I really look forward to see how much the to games will work together. Then I could think about buying both, and then could switch between those as my mood goes. But at the same time progress with the same player. Or something along those lines.
