Two words: Bull Shit
Soon enough all games will be 60$ or more
(Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended) WHAT?
they also have "5.1" sound card recommended. don't flip out. though really it is easier to control something like this with a controller
PC games used to run for $69.99 here. The Sims Online actually cost that much, as did Doom 3. We actually made an improvement, we shouldn't have to pay more again :(
It'll lower in price soon after it comes out, me thinks. I recently saw the Prestige edition of MW2 $60, so if that is any indicator, this'll be about $40 in April.
It's a really good game though. [editline]11:51PM[/editline] actually it got really ridiculous and shitty towards the last 2 acts, but other than that it's amazingly better than the first
170'000 units is no small number, that still makes them $10,200,000 Though yeah, compared to console sales, it is extremely miniscule, true.
And although 170,000 sales is quite an amount. 4.2 million pirated it. Rounding up, that is 25 times as many people pirated it than bought it. Coupled with a $60 price tag (and for ease of calculation let's say Steam cashes in $30 for each sale) then they could have made 126 million dollars more. Now let's see, assume one fifth of those pirates pirated because of the shit IW pulled (and all though this estimate is probably high), that is 840,000 people. Now assuming IW/Activision make a $30 profit from each sale... 25 million. Point is, $60 price tag, IWnet, relatively short campaign length, telling the PC community about the lack of features mere weeks before release, essentially lost them 25 million Dollars. I doubt it would have cost them 1/3 of that to have made MW2 a bit better on the PC side. Now the long lasting effects arrive, a $60 price tag on the ACII. I can't wait to do the math on how much they lost.
I wasn't planning on getting this crap anyway. Only reason I played the first game was because it came with the xbox I bought, it had a crappy abrupt ending wich just left me disapointed rather than wishing for a sequel.
What a rip off...
Now the long lasting effects arrive, a $60 price tag on the ACII. I can't wait to do the math on how much they lost.
At this point they really don't give a shit. They have made the money they want to make from their targeted audience which was consoles. Now they are gonna scrape in some more with the PC, raising the price a little because they know that people that actually want the game on PC are still going to pay that extra money. They probably couldn't care less about the piracy, other than maybe a study showing them how much more profitable it is releasing games on consoles only. And $60 sounds pretty sweet. For me that would be $66 AUD, which sounds like a good price for a video game. Hell I'm used to paying around $80-$90. Whatever the norm is for your country $60 doesn't sound like much of a rip. Businesses raise prices on their products all the time. The problem with businesses like video game industries is they have to worry about people stealing huge quantities of their products because they find them "unsatisfactory". With video gaming becoming increasingly popular, its only logical that big game industries are going to invest on systems that are devoted entirely for that purpose...
My fears have come true I think they are taking example from MW2 on the PC.
THANKS A FUCKING LOT MODERN WARFARE 2 LOOK WAHT THE FUCK YOU DID NOW. :eng99: [editline]03:52AM[/editline] My rage made me mispell shit leave me alone
I hope it comes with GFWL, too!
My ex girlfriend had a thing for Altair, so she made me photoshop wallpapers of him. Never got anything in return.:bang:
It's finally happening. I didn't think it would, but it is. Gaming has changed.

Still, I hope they don't pull the $=€ bullshit and make it 60€ on steam like the MW still is. 60$ is like 42€ and paying half more just because someone wants to be a cunt is fucking you know what I mean. Still, it's a fact that pretty much all new big name releases will sooner or later cost more. Not that I like it.
$60 fucking dollars? I think I'm gonna wait for the price to drop before I get it...

Whereas with steam since there is no shipping costs we're not raped due to the fact there are no delivery costs, as delivery is handled by a series of tubes.
Meh i thought the PC version would be cheaper so i waited, obviously i was wrong. I'm getting the 360 version.
