TBH I think WP7 holds that throne, just nobody uses it
Problem is that Microsoft was late at getting into the game.
Took them quite some time to change focus from businessmen to the general public.

I always say, WP7 is the most innovative mobile OS because it focuses on the phone and not the smart.

Then why buy a smartphone in the first place?
The key is to balance it well, not to put extreme focus on only one thing.
I plugged it in and pressed "Jailbreak" wrong?
How exactly do you do that?
There are many different jailbreak programs and there are many versions of said programs (you need the right one for your device). You should also format the device before jailbreaking.

Used redsn0w, and yes I did format it.

Honestly at this stage their marketing department must be a do-nothing job, the brand alone ensures profit.

Apple win BECAUSE of their marketing. Their marketing is fucking amazing. What other company managed to generate what is essentially a cult following? Shit like that doesn't happen on its own.
I am sure iOS 6 will change things. At least I hope it does.
I use an iPad (won it in a contest) and iOS is amazingly functional, and never misses a beat, and never crashes on me. It is even better when Jailbroken.
The only flaw is how ugly it has become compared to WP7/W8 and Ice Cream Sandwich. All the Apps are inconsistent in looks are are all based on real world application of what you are doing.
For example, Game Center is like a fucking pool table with white chalk and green felt. What the fuck. Ugliest thing Apple has ever made.
How? Hardware wise, it blows every Android tablet out of the water.
The resolution alone is really fucking impressive.
$500 for the low storage version.
iOS
I would probably consider buying a tablet such like the iPad if it had windows 8 on it because I'm so wanting a windows tablet they look superior.
Never-the-less, this looks promising just laughing at the android boys who are shitting themselves mad over this :v:
And people will still buy it despite them just having bought the iPad 2
if you've recently purchased an iPad 2 without knowing a new one is coming out in a couple of months you deserve to have your money wasted
apple's product release patterns are so fucking predictable
Could've made the screen support that fancy 3D so they could call it iPad 3D
"This new iPad has the most wireless bands of any device that has ever shipped, and it is truly revolutionary," Schiller said.
Funny how when a non-Apple device boasts technical specs, it's not considered revolutionary, but when Apple does it, it is.
I'm still waiting for something innovative instead of buying something over and over just to have a higher resolution or a slightly better processor or a faster wireless connection that you cant use anywhere.

I think most phones only use 4G LTE (which is the best so why would they use the others).

I just want an update that removes iOS5's features of instability and battery murder.
I just want an update that removes iOS5's features of instability and battery murder.
I'm pretty sure that "battery murder" is due to iOS actually starting to do things on its own in the background, up to this point iOS hasn't been much apart from an application launcher, they are tacking more features onto the core OS itself with each update now.
I'm pretty sure that "battery murder" is due to iOS actually starting to do things on its own in the background
uh iOS has always done things in the background. there's at least four layers of software that always run to make the os work.
computers don't work that way, this isn't MS-DOS where the only thing on screen is the echo.
this has some nice specs, screen is amazing and having 4G is a good touch. not to mention hardware improvements. This will be great for the few people who use their ipads to the full potential

iOS has always supported background threads I know that.
What I'm saying is that they now have more core functionality which is partially waking the device, checking your position, polling the Apple servers etc.
Why only 2047 pixels?
Why only 2047 pixels?
because its exactly double the res of the old ipad so developers can upgrade their apps easily
I sacrificed Stability for Customizability, I love Android and that's because of my preferences.
[/phonewars]
because its exactly double the res of the old ipad so developers can upgrade their apps easily
Surely it's one less than double?
Laggy on old versions and on shit phones, sure. ICS is perfectly smooth. Smooth as a baby's butt.
I've used ICS, a windows phone and iPhone. ICS lags, iPhone runs smooth and wp7 runs smooth and looks great.
The real winner is WP7 because of its good looks and performance.
that's the biggest problem with android. it's nowhere near as smooth as wp7 and ios.
that's the biggest problem with android. it's nowhere near as smooth as wp7 and ios.
On shitty hardware
On shitty hardware
Nah, ICS on a Galaxy Nexus, while smooth, compared to WP7 or iOS (on iPhone 4 or above) is not smooth
Android wins for customization and "serious" apps (Google Chrome, most Google apps) but iOS wins for fun apps like fatbooth, all those games, gimmicky stuff.
Again, its slow because that's how Android is. Java apps run in the JVM and its basically one giant app, and can't really get to the performance of a full blown OS with their dedicated software layers.
