we should have a un space program instead of all these national ones
space exploration would go much faster

A UN Space program would be even worse, Nothing would get done.
Now if you privatize it, shit will get done, ethics might be a little loose though.
I would seriously do it, I don't have much of a social life.
Yeah, but you still have probably like 80 more years of your life.
Get Married, bring wife.
Have Martian babies.

I guess you would have to find a Female that would want to actually go to Mars, but we've got 20 years or so.
Privatization is the future of space exploration if you ask me.

What film is that?
And we should just send prisoners with life sentences, come on.. being on Mars is much better than a jail cell.

that's not fair i want to go on mars first
I'd go.

If it helps humanity, fuck yeah I'm going. Been sitting on my ass too long.
:patriot:
I could never do this, to begin with, think of the fact that you'll need to spend the rest of your life living with the same people.
And I just don't wanna leave Earth, to god damn beautiful here. :3:
Many who have been burned into history for good or bad have lost their lives.
For a second I read this as "ancient history". I was going to say that it was a bit more than "many" of them who have died.
I will do it if i can still have internet

RIP George Carlin
When I started reading this I couldn't get the Bowie songs Space Oddity and Life on Mars out of my head... I sort of want to go, but also I don't want to go because I'd want to come back :ohdear:
Still bloody exciting to hear about the possibility of colonization on Mars though

Australia jokes.
It is so exciting how I keep reading new articles getting further into this space colonising and travelling!

Imagine seeing the sunrise/set through a sandstorm covering half the planet, or however big they get on mars.
That and I'm sure they will send supplies and building materials/capsules to expand. I bet they'd send more people too eventually.
This is exciting.
It'd sure as hell suck to be the last one of the group to die.
It'd sure as hell suck to be the last one of the group to die.
I'm sure they'd send more people waaaay before everyone was dead, plus there'd be people being born on the base as well so there wouldn't be a point where there's only one person left alive
Where the fuck do we sign up I can't find anything about it on Nasa's website.
To give up my life on Earth? Nah.
Lol, what "life"
I'm gonna sign up.

Yeah, have fun with the 20+ years of astronaut training.
clocks are clocks
also the article has it wrong
it should be "Centre director Pete Worden, who claimed humans could be living on Mars' moons by 2030 despite the inhospitable conditions, said: "The human space program is now aimed at settling other worlds."
Yeah, have fun with the 20+ years of astronaut training.
Always wanted to be an astronaut.
Plus I'm going to college for microbiology so I'd be useful

not much biology on Mars, except what humanity brings with itself
I would go, as long as my future wife/girlfriend came with me.
