but now the tables have turned, he's right though, every second post on FP about a game mentioned CoD in some way or another
but now the tables have turned, he's right though, every second post on FP about a game mentioned CoD in some way or another
how have the tables turned, paul still has significantly more funnies than he does boxes and bomimo still has significantly more boxes than he does funnies
You obviously weren't alive in 2009, 2010 or 2011, then. Let alone last week...
Why do you go into threads about games to tell people that their funny isn't right?
[editline]16th August 2012[/editline]
It seems pretty insecure. Do you tell people memes are old on Facebook?
how have the tables turned, paul still has significantly more funnies than he does boxes and bomimo still has significantly more boxes than he does funnies
But he said he had funnies while Bomimo had boxes so now they have both making what he said completely wrong
Game over

Nope. I don't often see memes, so. Some of them are totally cryptic to me, others are hilarious. All due to me getting/ not getting the context.
He recites the worlds oldest joke. I found that offensively stupid and commented on it. I guess that's what we call a bad move. Lucky for me, we live and learn, yes?
Zee Captain is an amazing troll. All of you riled up. Watch what happens when they go 'oh I never said it had to be this Gamescon'.
What are you talking about? I made that post when I was awake over 50 hours(Had to drive my mother to the hospital, I was worried but she is completely fine now) and decided to browses Facepunch after I had a few drinks :V:
But I decided to just roll with it anyways since I'm already fucked. Although I do think there is a chance HL3 is gonna be revealed.
Not gamescon, gamescom. Huge difference, as great as gamescom might be this year, it will never be as good as gamescon(games convention)
lol
Maybe something else has been said, but wasn't this already confirmed to be fake?
Yes, yes it's fake, which makes this guy a sad, sad poster;
I actually believe that it is time. I never felt this way but I can feel it. Lets have a bet.
I will personally get my self permaban if Half Life 3 is NOT announced at Gamescon.
I trust you gabe.

guys, haf life isnt even good.......
What are you doing
There is no doubt in my mind that Half-Life 3 is going to just be Duke Nuke'em Forever V2.
A game that gets hyped to shit and sets the expectations so high that no matter how good the game is, even if it is the best game ever made, it will still not be enough because of the hype.
Except DNF is an objectively bad game in addition to all the hype.
I don't see how HL3 could end up being a bad game. Valve does an extremely large amount of playtesting, and they pay very close attention to how players react and make tweaks specifically based on feedback as they go. They're not going to release something that people don't enjoy.
All I know is Half-Life 3 won't be released until L4D2 on linux is complete. When they show off half life 3 they are gonna use source 2 which they would wan't available on linux.
Why do you fucks always cry for EPISODE 3
Why give 2 flying shits about a episode, if they were to make a 3 I'd rather have Half Life 3
It being called Episode 3 does not mean it will have a similar level of content to the previous episodes. It just means it is called Episode 3, it has no affect on the actual game.

you can't say how long the game will be, just because the time since the last half-life game was long does not mean that the next one will be longer to make up for that. Valve could release episode 3 with only a couple of hours of content in, it's the quality that matters, not the quantity.
It'd be funny from gabe to just announce "Oh and along our new game, Ricochet 2, we are publishing Half Life 3. You can check it out at our booth. Thanks bye."

It being called Episode 3 does not mean it has to be similar in length to the episodic games they have already made, they said they aren't going to do any more episodic games anyway. I don't think Valve would spend over 5 years creating and constantly changing a game that would be a few hours long and is is supposed to be a conclusion to the HL2 story. It would need to be a full length game like HL2 to do it justice really.

yeah sorry im just moving into the toddler stage i don't know what i was thinking :'(
This is terribly suspicious. They told the press that it was a mistake.
Mistake as in "it should've been a surprise"
Or as in "One of our employees fucked with the list"
Cause it sure as hell cant be a typo.
And im pretty sure valve wouldn't want tell us that they are going to announce it.
They definately want to do it the way Portal 2 did it.

but they haven't been working on it all this time. because of how Valve's structure works, people aren't forced to work on projects and choose what they want to work on. sure there's hints of development as you find files labelled "ep3" occasionally, but that's it.
i just cant wait for people to spend days upon days of their dedicated time to try and decode the ARG they will release.
doing all of that is for nothing because it's not like they won't release the game if no one decodes it.

an ARG isn't worked on simply because of "onoo guys gam wont be relsed" it's because of the enjoyment of working together, playing and doing shit you enjoy to reveal something you're curious with.

They have a separate suite-floor where only the people with jet-desks get to go.

How do you know they haven't been working on it for all this time? Gabe has said "everybody who has worked on Ricochet 2 continues to work on Ricochet 2" and considering they haven't shown anything of it because they keep changing their minds and it was planned to be released shorty after Episode 2, that means they have been working on it for a while.

I don't see what makes you think they haven't been working on HL/EP3 all this time. I'm pretty sure they have been working on figuring out how to continue the story, what scenery they want, what should happen, how it should happen, what will be new, should we push limits or improve what we already have. So on and so forth.
There is a lot of work that can be done that doesn't involve modelling, mapping and making a playable game. And that stuff can take the most time.
And working on it for all these years doesn't need to imply non-stop work. But taking some hours every day or every week to work on it. Slowly solving the puzzle.
In "Portal 2: The Final Hours" there is a part that says during the time between late 2007 and early 2008, all production was shut down on games to get Valve working on concepts/ideas.
Then after that period of idea storming, it's obvious that they were working hard on the Left4Dead series and Portal 2. A few articles at the time of Left4Dead2's release did say that everyone at Valve were working extremely hard on it to get it released on time. So it's doubtful that they were working on Episode 3 much during that period.
So you could make the assumption that a bit of work was put into Episode 3 between Mid 2008 and late 2009. I'm not trying to say that they haven't been working on it all this time, I'm simply trying to say that they haven't been working on it constantly and instead it's been worked partially at certain occasions.

The rest of 2007 and 2008 were perfectly valid times to work on HL3?
I don't see why you assume they didn't work on them before and after the shut down? I also don't see why the concept and ideas couldn't be used for HL3 as well? It's not a made game, especially not back in that time, so it shouldn't ahve been affected on a work-on-games block.
