Yep.
All terrorists really want to do is make your life slightly inconvenient.
the TSA creates more fear than it alleviates because its existence is (supposedly) necessarily predated by a real and persistent threat of terrorism on airlines, so increased security measures lead us to conclude that a terror attack is even more likely than we're led to believe.
the TSA is on a practical level little more than a song and dance made up to appeal to the public interest in the wake of 9/11 - it doesn't catch terrorists (most previous terror plots in the US have been uncovered by regular police), it regularly fails inspection, and it only serves to inconvenience the public in the interest of stopping a terror threat that is virtually unaffected by the TSA being there.
i'd hazard a guess that we would probably worry less about a terror attack if the TSA wasn't there to begin with, because we wouldn't be misled into thinking that there's something that we need to be protected against. i'd imagine that being molested on the way to your family reunion is more demoralizing than being a little nervous about a terror attack on your flight -- not only is the thing itself demoralizing, but it also suggests that the threat is so extreme that your government is willing to hire some stiff to awkwardly touch you or shove you through a body scanner to prevent your plane from being exploded.
Water bottles/liquid beverage containers aren't even allowed past airport security.
They are in Australia, plus you can buy water bottles at the shops at the airport and some airlines sell water bottles on flights.
So, I guess this is an anti-aussie bomb really.

There is a suitable Key and Peele sketch for everything you can possibly imagine.
yeah bro i totaly just made a nuke with some paper and rubber bands im COMING FOR YOU
but srs this is most likely probably and 99% definately bs imo because why the fuck would you warn your enemy you've made a new weapon? Al Queda may as well be punching themselves in the stomach if it's real.
'Hey America! Terrorists here, we'e got this new super secret bomb you'll never see coming. You'll never see it coming!'
Yep.

Also create an organization whose sole purpose is to violate the document we designed our country with. Meanwhile they have bee proven time and time again to be little more than pathetic security theater all while consuming vast quantities of cash and molesting Americans and, even worse, guests to our country.
And that is JUST the TSA. Nevermind the endless wars and shit. The bomb isn't the weapon, our fear is.

they're terrorists, their entire group is based around terrorizing people, hence the name. they're probably lying hoping they'll make people extra paranoid.
The TSA is bullshit. There is not one documented case of them preventing an attack.
The TSA use a chemical detection system to detect traces of explosive compounds. I hardly see how using nonmetallic containers (that wouldn't allow the bomb to full detonate before flinging itself apart) are going to get past the already existing countermeasures.
A lot of people in this thread had the point completely fly over their heads.
They laugh as they spew bullshit to our media and north america locks down just a little bit further revoking one right at a time essentially turning the US into a police state.
And so many people are stupid enough to think "why would you idiots tell us!!!!" And then not be surprised when more items are banned at the airports. You are the dumb ones falling for their tricks.
THAT IS THE FUCKING POINT.
How hard is this? The point of bombs on planes IS the TSA. The TSA is the objective of terrorism.
I don't think the end goal of Al Quaeda is to mildly inconvenience travellers by making them go through a security check.
what? like the bomb equivalent of a glock?
undetectable bomb my arse

How coddled a generation this is when there are people actually saying "what sheep, the terrorists obviously are doing this so you can't carry water bottles on planes"
Wint3r if you're going to disagree with me, post a source. The TSA does not have one single documented case of preventing an attack on airplanes.

Of course it's not the end goal but why is it so hard to believe that they would provide misinformation to the media just to see what our reaction is? I'm imagining this is probably just a small group within Al-Qaeda that got together and decided they wanted to fuck with Americans, probably just because they think it's funny they can get anything banned by the TSA just by saying "yeah I can totally make a bomb out of that".

You are missing the entire point.

Yeah I am sure they just sit in a cave all day watching the TSA banned items list laughing and proclaiming victory when you have to charge your cellphone before going on a plane.
Seriously, you people are really fucking narcissistic if you think that the true goal of terrorists is to mildly inconvenience you while they spend their days planting roadside IEDs and taking hostages.
Isn't the plane supposed to be the bomb ?
You are missing the entire point.
No, you are missing the entire point.
The reason why they post these guides isn't "to get items banned". The reason why they post these guides is because the easiest vector for them to strike at us is through home grown lone wolves.
The NSA has bueracracy to deal with so they are probably hoping that by the time it takes to deal with these potential issues then someone will have already striked or modified the design.

Well what the fuck else would you do for fun if you were in Al-Qaeda? Fuck goats?
I just don't see why else they would release such sensitive information before ever actually using it to their advantage. They obviously aren't going to get anywhere now that this information is out, had they been planning to actually use this bomb.

Read my post next time before replying. I began it with the words, "Of course it's not the end goal".
Unless they plan on all using the bathroom all at once and staying in the restrooms for the whole flight... Oh my god.. that's its!

Actually the easiest way would be to hit basically any other target in existence.
Get a hammer and go take out a section of rail behind a blind corner in front of a passenger train. Not only do you derail the train, but you have an excellent chance of never being caught and you shut down the freight that would use the same rails.
Blow up several buses of people. You don't even need to be on them. Poison water. Scuttle cargo vessels. Destroy bridges.
All of these things have an excellent chance of your operative not dying in the process. People are, to varying degrees, afraid of flying though. So to strike people in an aircraft, despite the fact that using small amounts of explosives makes blowing up aircraft remarkably difficult to do, suggests that they have some pretty serious ulterior motives.
Like the ones I listed in my previous post. You are basically ignoring everything posted and just saying the same shit repeatedly.
The NSA doesn't even handle this mess, they are almost entirely responsible for communication security.

You're still missing the entire point.
As described above by Gun fox, the most effective means of terrorism is psychological warfare. Especially when you are attacking a population and not another army.
Furthermore, there is virtually no bureaucracy involved when it comes to terror threats. Are you kidding me?
The TSA can Confiscate anything on a moments notice when you are going through customs. It's called judgement calls. They don't have to contact the superior court to take your bottle of shampoo.
