If his opponent said something like "yeah, so the IDF kills Palestinian children, so what", then it's understandable, I would have walked out too. But he didn't. All he said was "I'm from this particular place on the planet". And is somehow enough reason for Galloway to leave.

Pretty stupid move on his part. He should have waited for him to say something stupid, then make a amazingly hilarious walkout without uttering a word. He ruined his image.

I'm a huge Anti-Zionist and I still recognize Israel. I just think they should be hands off to places like East of Jerusalem, the occupied Syrian zones, and the West Bank.
The only country that recognizes their claim to the occupied areas is Costa Rica.
I don't really consider myself to recognise any state or border as legitimate but I wouldn't let that stop me from talking to or debating someone who happened to be from Israel.
This guy sure likes to draw attention to himself, I guess it keeps his name in the public eye.

its like someone saying "israel shouldn't be recognized internationally as a sovereign state" and then refusing to debate an israeli because they hate israel so much. i'm not a fan of israel either but defending this guy who was being a flat out cunt and refusing to participate solely because he hates israel and israelis so much is just ridiculous. there was no ulterior motive or hidden meaning to his decision to leave, he left because he didnt want to debate an israeli, that's it.
