illegal immigrants normally can't work for most legal, solvent companies so have to work for illegal ones, which is bad
which is why i advocate making illegal immigrants legal immigrants
why is it ok when 4 million people are born in the us each year, but when illegal immigrants come here (in significantly lower numbers), it's a massive issue that threatens to destabilize our economy and job market?
no nation allows illegal immigration - the us doesn't need millions of laborers, if we did the US Govt which i guarantee is full of smarter (and dumber to be fair) than you would let them come in ie ellis island. we need people with degrees not unskilled labor - that's why we deport them.
illegal immigrants normally can't work for most legal, solvent companies so have to work for illegal ones, which is bad
this is so not, I don't even wait you live in the UK, wtf man
this is so not, I don't even wait you live in the UK, wtf man
what
why don't we deport unskilled laborers that are american citizens, if the issue is about our need for a strong workforce?
Because the government looks out for it's own people Where the fuck do you even dump unskilled American citizens anyways. You could be a fucking welfare queen with twenty kids and living off foster care checks. If she's born in the US, you are under the wing the US government. You're just advocating what some utopian compound in a backwater would probably do.
kopimi, your utopian plan wouldn't work the same reason other utopian plans don't work : people are human and are not perfectly accepting of everything and everyone else who is not them, this is something that takes hundreds to never years to change
Because the government looks out for it's own people You could be a fucking welfare queen with twenty kids and living off foster care checks. You're born in the US and therefore you are under the wing the US government. You're just advocating what some utopian compound in a backwater would probably do.
ok but saying "thats just how it is" doesn't really do much to explain WHY it is that way why should immigrants be put through the grinder to become american citizens, but you could be the most useless, lazy, unskilled person in the history of america and you're still considered more american than the immigrant just because you were lucky enough to be born there
whats so important about the location of your birth
kopimi, your utopian plan wouldn't work the same reason other utopian plans don't work : people are human and are not perfectly accepting of everything and everyone else who is not them, this is something that takes hundreds of years to change
its not really utopian its just open borders lmao. if your defense for closed borders and a poor immigration system is "well people won't like open borders" then idk there's not much else to say to you.
its not really utopian its just open borders lmao. if your defense for closed borders and a poor immigration system is "well people won't like open borders" then idk there's not much else to say to you.
your plan is based on the fact that automatically granting citizenship to everyone in your country at this moment and in the future regardless of their origin, I'm not saying that it's a bad plan, but that you seem to live in a deluded world where every one is exactly as perfect as you how am I defending a poor immigration system, can you not read????
your plan is based on the fact that automatically granting citizenship to everyone in your country at this moment and in the future regardless of their origin, I'm not saying that it's a bad plan, but that you seem to live in a deluded world where every one is exactly as perfect as you
i dont what what does any of this have to do with me being perfect or anything wtf are you on about
whats so important about the location of your birth
Citizenship.
how am I defending a poor immigration system, can you not read????
ya i get it you said youre open to a better immigration system yet for some reason here you are still going on and on about how closed borders wont work because ??? because i'm perfect or something?
Open Borders would be a fucking mess. Do you have any idea how shitty mexico is at the moment?
Open Borders would be a fucking mess. Do you have any idea how shitty mexico is at the moment?
you're aware that violence isn't like a physical body of liquid that will spill into america when we open the borders right
The way it should work is, get a visa to come here legally. Start working. If you continue working and strive to live here, instead of being a leach, you have the right to participate and test for citizenship.
yes why are illegal immigrants less deserving of a life in america than a child born to american citizens [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] if anything immigrants work harder to be american than children born in america so the fact that we send people away for not being "real americans" is kinda confusing to me
I dunno man I worked pretty hard in school and I didn't get the financial aid the illegal immigrants qualify for so now i'm at a community college struggling to survive but that's cool it's not like i'm upset or anything that i'm lower-middle class white and working two jobs.
i dont what what does any of this have to do with me being perfect or anything wtf are you on about
'automatically give citizenship to everyone who is an illegal immigrant in your country' is the same as to everyone in your country at that moment you seem to live in a deluded world view where "perfect open borders" is not a utopian unobtainable plan where everyone is exactly like you
why is it ok when 4 million people are born in the us each year, but when illegal immigrants come here (in significantly lower numbers), it's a massive issue that threatens to destabilize our economy and job market?
I'm going to use hyperbole here- DON'T PANIC Say America has a population of 300 million. If 60 million ppl immigrated (legally or illegally doesn't matter)- what would be the effects? For starters that's a 20% population increase just through immigration. With unemployment numbers already high one could expect most of that 20% to fall directly into unemployment. You think it's hard finding a job now? This would be disastrous. Add to that the monies states/Feds would need to pay out- as there's now 20% more ppl struggling to survive. No country in the world allows unregulated immigration. Most countries of the world have harsher penalties for noncompliance. Side note- I'm not against immigration. The USA does need comprehensive immigration reform. Even if/when this happens it can't be as some suggest/ which is to just throw open the borders. Doing that would cause severe social and economic problems.
The way it should work is, get a visa to come here legally. Start working. If you continue working and strive to live here, instead of being a leach, you have the right to participate and test for citizenship.
ignoring the fact that getting a visa and becoming a citizenship are not even remotely easy or cheap why do they have to go through this but kids lucky enough to be born in america dont
you're aware that violence isn't like a physical body of liquid that will spill into america when we open the borders right
And I never said it did? There's just the fact that we can't fucking take every person who needs shelter. There's a legal process and they should abide by it.
just make a simpler and quicker immigration process rather than giving illegal immigrants citizenship
ignoring the fact that getting a visa and becoming a citizenship are not even remotely easy or cheap why do they have to go through this but kids lucky enough to be born in america dont
Yeah. That's how citizenship works. It's not fair, but you're born here and you receive citizenship after your birth is documented.
I dunno man I worked pretty hard in school and I didn't get the financial aid the illegal immigrants qualify for so now i'm at a community college struggling to survive but that's cool it's not like i'm upset or anything that i'm lower-middle class white and working two jobs.
im sorry this is an issue with illegal immigration how?
ya i get it you said youre open to a better immigration system yet for some reason here you are still going on and on about how closed borders wont work because ??? because i'm perfect or something?
Alright, lets put your dream into reality. Lets say North Korea decides to open it's borders. No fucking wars no disputes or any bullshit. NK and SK decide to open their borders. Hell, maybe they suddenly become unified. What happens to a country with one of the top GDPs in the world suddenly merging into one of the most poorest, desolate, isolated countries in the world? You have a massive flux of immigrants walking into the South getting a job, trying to settle into a large city. You will end up with the creation of ghettos, crime-infested streets and an even larger problem of trying to feed a starving population that wants to live in the South for a better life when millions of others like him/her would want to do the same. Look at the UK right now, France had to bulldoze a hooverville and kick people out.
He's saying that a program of citizens first is fine and perfectly logical. Why the hell would a government want to put priority on a bunch of no plan optimistic's who knowingly, illegally crossed into the country.
I'm going to use hyperbole here- DON'T PANIC Say America has a population of 300 million. Result? Industries expand to fill demand. We would see everything expand with a population expansion. Even illegal drug and weapons production would increase. The revenue taken in by the IRS would increase. Loads of other things happen too.
explain to me how an influx of immigrants is any different from an influx of children being born in a country
Because Children aren't instantly independent and try to get in on opportunistic that they aren't prepared for, or qualified to obtain.
