How about ramming other ships? Because they've done that...
The Japanese security vessels have done the same to the sea shepard ships too you know. [editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
Fuck prison. Execute them. Dump them in the ocean. They are hippy scum.
It's actually hilarious seeing how immature some of facepunch is. Question, how does one define "Hippy Scum"?
How about ramming other ships? Because they've done that...
When did they do that? I remember two accounts when the whalers (well technically the Shonan is manned by mercs the whalers hired) rammed Sea Shep boats. Or wait are you referring to the part about the "japanese whalers not doing anything wrong" because that was sarcasm.
Why are people failing to realize that a Japanese whaling ship was in Australian waters here? I mean yeah these people were also in the wrong for boarding the ship on their own will instead of contacting the proper authorities but it's not like the whalers aren't scum either.
Fuck prison. Execute them. Dump them in the ocean. They are hippy scum.
Fuck prison. Execute them. Dump them in the ocean. They are poacher scum.
Piracy now? Good going, Sea shep! Wonder if Watson will pretend he was shot again.
Piracy now? Good going, Sea shep! Wonder if Watson will pretend he was shot again.
Read the article. No one from sea shepherd boarded the ship
Isn't Forest Action close with Sea Shepard?
Do the same with the poachers.
They would be better respected by me if they were not being hippies for something exceptionally dumb. They could do something better....like bomb chinese counterfeit electronics factories or assisinate east indian corporate executives. Hell, I'll let them fight to save the trees. Also, to be technical chinese overfishing is a lot more damaging than japanese whaling. The only reason they don't go after that is because they are pussies and they KNOW the chinese will torture and kill them.
Isn't Forest Action close with Sea Shepard?
Even if they are, they're still no Sea Shepard, a major clue to that could be the fact that one is called Forest Action and the other is called Sea Shepard. Just sayin' [editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
They would be better respected by me if they were not being hippies for something exceptionally dumb.
Even if they are, they're still no Sea Shepard, a major clue to that could be the fact that one is called Forest Action and the other is called Sea Shepard. Just sayin'
Child groups do exist.
Child groups do exist.
Whether or not they are in a group or not, they're still not the same charity/organisation.
Remember, This is piracy and eco-terrorism. They board without permission.
ITS TERRORISTS JUST LIKE THOSE GUYS OCCUPYING WALL STREET I dont see anything they are doing which is morally reprehensible. They boarded their ship then surrendered. thats sure as hell not piracy and eco-terrorism is a fucking joke of a term and you should feel bad for using it in such a manner.
Wait so the trees are more important than living intelligent animals that could possibly have their own form of culture?
Japan knows that they will soon see their catch intake thin out and there is no way they'll let themselves totally deplete the ocean of them. Trust me when I say that they will stop on their own. Whaling is far too valueable to Japan. They'll just wait out for a few decades for the population to go back up, like we did when the east coast nearly exterminated Atlantic Cod.
all of you talking about piracy and that are fucking morons. who the fuck cares if it IS piracy? (which it isn't). frankly i hope they sink every one of those whaling ships and i don't give a shit how many asshole whalers lose their livelihoods. these people are brutally killing one of earths most amazing and intelligent creatures, how the fuck can anyone support that? damn i wish i wasn't 'hippy scum' so i could understand what is wrong some of you people

Let's play that back so you can see what you just said. You just said, they will stop killing the whales, a fanstatically intelligent type of animal, simply because when there are so few left thanks to the whaling that it will become unprofitable to do so. Please, for the love of all the is good, grasp how brutally inhumane that is, to kill an intelligent creature and only stop because there are so few that there simply isn't enough money in the act to make it worthwhile any longer.
I saw a video where those sea shepard idiots rammed into a whaling ship and then claimed that the ship rammed into them and destroyed their multi million dollar new boat or some shit.
lol actually their boat ran out of fuel and couldn't move then the whalers hit it
lol actually their boat ran out of fuel and couldn't move then the whalers hit it
Hit isn't exactly the right term either, if I remember correctly didn't they just go straight through the Gojira?
Hit isn't exactly the right term either, if I remember correctly didn't they just go straight through the Gojira?
pretty much. and yet it's the gojiras captain who ended up getting arrested.

And it kinda is, it just doesnt fit with the demonized connotation of terrorism we have in the world today. Of course there are the nutjobs who are way out of line, but the term itself is far too broad for my liking. Hell, isnt a commonly used term by soccer moms "terrorize the neighborhood" and just guess who thats applied to? If you need proof that its too broad, well, the guy i quoted did just that. He is intentionally associating people boarding a ship, handing the captain a piece of paper, and surrendering with the type of people who bomb factories and big business over the environment, and is implying that they should meet the same punishment. Edit: These people are fighting for what they beleive in, which happens to be a cause i very much agree with, its much preferable than those guys in our armed forces who dedicate their lives for fighting for what other people believe and pride themselves on taking orders without question, and those guys actually kill civilians all the bloody time. The hypocracy involved in some of these neocon idiots train of thought when talking about terrorism is completely out of line. Legal is not moral.
pretty much. and yet it's the gojiras captain who ended up getting arrested.
Because the boat was involved In attacking whaling vessels, I think. IMO both the Sea Shepperds and the whalers should be thrown in the slammer.

The crew is captive to the demands of these activists (with their message of returning them to Australian shores), those who have surrendered to others don't order them around. This does sound like terrorism, when you think about it.
Because the boat was involved In attacking whaling vessels, I think. IMO both the Sea Shepperds and the whalers should be thrown in the slammer.
In my opinion most of the time what they are both doing is legal, the main tactic Sea Shepard have is stink bombs and blocking the factory ships slipway so they can't kill any whales and drag them on board. The japanese fight back with water cannons and sonic weapons and on the odd ocassion, ramming. The rammings fucked up but other than that really everything is above level. The one thing I hate though is how the catch the whales, the fucking harpoons are explosive. The best part is sometimes that doesn't kill them, in which case they are allowed to fire a second explosive tipped harpoon or shoot them in the head with a rifle until they die. Such a fucking brutal practice man.
Fucking whalers just fuck off already. Fuck.

i am so sick and tired of these mother fucking hippie whatever the fuck they are why can't japan just farm whale or something in a controlled environment to get these fuckers off their goddamn back i don't care if i'm ignorant or whatever the fuck i'm seriously tired of hearing about these sea shepard fuckers like they're curing cancer yes saving whales is pretty fucking cool but at the same time everyone is making it seem like "OH MY GOD IF WE DON'T SAVE THESE WHALES THE WORLD IS GOING TO FUCKING END AAAAAAAAAA"
i am so sick and tired of these mother fucking hippie whatever the fuck they are why can't japan just farm whale or something in a controlled environment to get these fuckers off their goddamn back
Because it's a fucking retarded brutal practice, it's also illegal to whale but Japan use the bullshit excuse that it's for scientific research and monitoring of the populations, despite selling all the whale meat and shit anyway. Let's not forget that the whales are actually intelligent too you know. But it's cute that you just write them off as mother fucking hippies.

How exactly do we know the Japanese aren't actually using them for scientific purposes? Maybe they just sell the excess? Seems perfectly natural to me, why let all that perfectly good whale go to waste?
nah it was cause he boarded their ship and tried to place the captain under citizens arrest :P. and nope, the sea shepherds are good people doing good things. the whalers are just asshole killers.
Yes, Sinking ships using explosives and attacking crew members, is totally fine. I like whales just as much as the next guy, but sea Sheppard isn't a innocent group, and they should be held responsible for any crime the commit, just as any other person would.
