Who made them say it? No one, they said it themselves. Besides, it was more of a warning than a confirmation
you do realize there are laws about this sort of thing, right? also
we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID/password
that's definitely not just a warning
Sony is full of bastards for being targeted by hackers such as Anonymous for no good reason
Sony is "full of bastards" for having shit all security, and there's no reason to believe anonymous did this.
Thank god, i don't own a console. :j:
Thank God I don't even play video games v:v:v
Odds are, Xbox Live will be next if this guy goes on a rampage. Hopefully not but you never know.
Wow, this sucks. O.o
Odds are, Xbox Live will be next if this guy goes on a rampage. Hopefully not but you never know.
It's ok, I only have all of my credit card and Steam information on Xbox Live. Because I hold my Steam information on there. You know, just incase I forget my Steam information. I can always find it out again from my super secure Xbox Live account. I also hold the CD keys to every single game that I have ever purchased on PC on there aswell. Just incase the security on one of those games is compromised.
For fuck sake now I'll be afraid of using my PS3 while online when the PSN comes back...
You know, despite all this shit that's happened I still wouldn't trade my PS3 for anything.
Well, it pretty much means huh.....what a whole week again? And after that, how long before the next "maintenance"? Someone obviously has a grudge against Sony big enough that he wants nothing more in life than its downfall. And for what? Because they couldn't hack the PS3 easily anymore? I mean from what I understand, this is why people wanted an OS on the PS3 in the first place, so they could install hacks more easily. Or was it because of the PSP Go? Sony doesn't deserve to go instinct over that, all gaming companies made flops....look at Nintendo or Sega. Is it because of SecuRom? Granted it sucks but why did they do it in the first place? To combat piracy! It never worked very well but it was for a good fucking reason... Now excuse me if I'm wrong, just correct me if I am. So what's left?
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck Now I'm gonna get a mound of Viagra ads and won't be able to tell which ones are the real ones :sigh:
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck Now I'm gonna get a mound of Viagra ads and won't be able to tell which ones are the real ones :sigh:
You need Viagra?......
:smith: So guys, when do you think I will receive a fleshlight?
Or 1000 dildos in the mail... What if the hacker just sent everyone that had credit cards attached to their account 1000 dildos in the mail.
Maybe its time to score a used ps3 cheap :v:
You need Viagra?......
Some guys propably needs it.
If anyone was wondering, if you connected your PSN account to your Steam account, your Steam information is not at risk. Valve just confirmed that. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UkOAj.png[/img_thumb]
Obviously, Steam guard was made to make this sort of thing impossible. Same with security codes on cards.

The sole and only reason for someone to do something like this is earning money. Own personal gain.
One of the comments read: "33. whitewind 14 Hours Ago As a software engineer I find myself shocked that Sony did not encrypt account information. This entire situation should never have happened, it's the equivalent of leaving a bank vault door open! Personal information should never be stored in plain text. I don't know how a company so big with a database of millions could take such risks." If he is right, then its sony's fault.
Now I feel like a lucky bastard that PSS never worked for me and the info ain't stored there :smug: [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] Looking at it positively, maybe they are going to listen to the community a bit more? I feel bad for the people who got ripped out of their money though.
by everything they really do mean everything

Do we actually have a source specifically stating that Sony didn't encrypt anything or are people running with a rumor again?
Lawsuits, lawsuits everywhere.
Let's see, how can I make this work to my advantage...
Why can't these dumb hackers get a life.
Why can't these dumb hackers get a life.
You sound like a middle-school facebook user.
You sound like a middle-school facebook user.
Because I want to be able to use PSN? Or because I'm mad at the neck bearded 4channers that think they are cool by doing this.
Because I want to be able to use PSN? Or because I'm mad at the neck bearded 4channers that think they are cool by doing this.
Assuming that this is 4chan doing this. Hell, it could be anyone.
Assuming that this is 4chan doing this. Hell, it could be anyone.
It's almost certainly some rampage guy from anon.
Sony didn't encrypt user information at all. These aren't clever hackers that did it, just people using custom firmware that made their console connect to the developer network. Completely Sony's fault, they'll be sued
Gotta love 100% speculation. Or do you have a source for your claims? Because the hacker could have just as well gained access through an individual at the company who left his personal computer vulnerable. Again, complete speculation.
Because I want to be able to use PSN? Or because I'm mad at the neck bearded 4channers that think they are cool by doing this.
How the fuck is it 4chan? Seriously get off the internet and don't come back until you're 13, or ever.
How the fuck is it 4chan? Seriously get off the internet and don't come back until you're 13, or ever.
It could be 4chan, it could be a different group of hackers, it could be Obama and his buds, who knows?
Well, I hope everyones happy.
