We rely on religious people to cook our food, fly our planes, and generally not engage in random acts of mass murder. If you think that the billions of people who consider themselves religious would murder you if they hear the right voices in their head, you might have some problems going about your daily life. I mean, I guess we could create a separate enclave where only atheists live. We could put it right next to GlennBeckistan.

We could put it right next to GlennBeckistan.[/QUOTE] most organized religions are based on information that has been proven to be false for a long time. so yes, most religious people suffer from a mental condition. if your parents' indoctrinations remain when you're an adult I would not describe you as level headed. but that's aside from the point, which was, if you believe in a religion yet claim many of it's philosophies are false, you are clinically insane. if your god existed, and you're seriously ignorant and delusional enough to think that you somehow have the power over every other human to interpret his words accurately, at times disregarding many of them, you are batshit fucking crazy.

A lot of this is really disheartening, and shows that a substantial portion of the Muslim world is hopelessly backward by Western standards.

probably the one that i find the most interesting of all is the last one, 50% of muslims surveyed enjoy western entertainment, while 56% of those that said they enjoyed western entertainment believed it undermined their cultural values

It is important to note that the most extremist interpretations of Islam come from specific regions of the Middle East, particularly Afghanistan. South Asia and Europe are much less radical.
