The Consumerist's "Worst Company In America 2013" Thread. Roster includes EA, Apple, Facebook, and m

Banks that helped cause the financial crisis that we're all still feeling today? Companies that regularly use mistreated and underpaid labor? Companies that violate our privacy and turn our identities into profit? Yeah I'm sorry but EA is small fries compared to these assholes.
I would like to see EA win, absolutely. Them, Apple, or Facebook.
However, the REAL worst companies on that list? Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, and the cable companies.

EA won last time because of the hate bandwagon on the internet. That's fine, but seriously there were (and clearly still are) far more deserving companies.

nonsense! Fuck EA!

I don't even get why facebook, google, microsoft or apple are on that list, sure apple and their patient trolling is questionable but they're honestly not that bad
Something like EA has a more direct effect on someone's daily life more than a big bank
if you're underage maybe

I totally agree. What EA does is tiny shit compared to Comcast or any of the banks. EA's fuckups just happen to have a large impact on a shared interest of Facepunch that makes up a sizable component of our lives.
I do still think it would be awesome for EA to win, just to deliver another heartfelt "Fuck you" to them from the gaming community. But, let's not kid ourselves, Comcast, AT&T, Time Warner, and Cablevision really deserve to win for conspiring amongst themselves to slice up territory, avoid competition, and ruthlessly price gouge their slaves-er, I mean, customers.

Well given the crowd who vote in this...
Several companies on that roster are far worse than the guys who make bad video games and microtransactions for them.
boa, wells fargo, chase, wal mart, capital one, ticketmaster, comcast...
yea ea doesn't even come close to being a winner.
[editline]19th March 2013[/editline]
oh shit time warner and cablevision are on there too
it's legitimately a hard decision
I'll be voting for time warner cable. Fuck them.
I'm going to be pissed if EA wins this again. I despise their business practices but the fact a videogame publisher won "Worst Company" over everyone else on that list last year was fucking shameful in my opinion.
Personally, I'm leaning towards Comcast this year. Their monopoly has gotten ridiculous and they actively fuck over their customers at every turn.
It's a poll it's not like it means anything
None of the businesses will change if they win or not
Ooh, shit, it's a tie between TWC and Comcast
wells fargo is literally responsible for an old man dying in court recently because of a typo so

Actually last time, a worst company of year award did effect the stocks of EA.

I'm seriously curious about this. When did this happen?

grab the tissues
I wish they put Lockheed-Martin on there
Dear god the things they do to our taxpayer money
EA won last time because anger over the ME3 ending

It helps that it's bracketed, so we only choose between two given companies at any given time.
Place ya' bets now!
Bring me up to date; why is Comcast evil now?
I use it for my TV and internet, I only get some outages once every few months but other than that it's fine. What'd they do?
they really need to lose the trashy basketball/sports theme

March Madness

Shit, I never even heard about that.
How long have they been recording my history?
I was hoping Activision would be on the list, apparantly it's not American.
Despite the whole simcity fiasco, I still think they are worse.
It is hard to vote for just one company.
How about the Phone/Cable/Internet/Media companies? It is shameful that such a small number of companies can hold so much influence over what kind of entertainment we consume, how much we pay for it, and with what speed.
I love watching people whine about banks not getting it
Do you seriously think they fucking care at this point? They get them
EVERY
SINGLE
YEAR
Do you see any change? Me neither. Meanwhile, EA, who has bought out and run countless devs to the ground, axing people from their jobs all for nothing, and even caused the death of at least one person. Getting voted the worst company HURT them. Thats more than anything that ever happened to the banks from getting voted bad.
I'm giving my vote to Walmart.
EA won the title of worst company last year, and that was before this Simcity shitstorm.
Frankly I'd be more surprised if EA didn't win.
Warner? That's the clear winner here. The music Industry should be getting more slots since that recent revealing of youtube fraud.
