waiting for the post claiming that FP is a hive of atheists or that this thread is an atheist circlejerk. unless it's already been posted.
Someone sorta did
let's not make this a "be a dick to all Christians" thread

*sigh* I live in Knoxville. BRB I need to go kill a few people.
As do I, said the fly. Seriously, religious whack-jobs are making our state look bad.
waiting for the post claiming that FP is a hive of atheists or that this thread is an atheist circlejerk. unless it's already been posted.
:smug: I don't have a problem with atheists, I just hate when any discussion like this turns into "I hate Christians because they force their beliefs on me, let's find the nearest Christian and bash him, even if he says he hates Christian extremists too."
I heard about this, it's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It reminds me of 4th grade when this kid argued with me that dinosaurs aren't real because the Bible doesn't mention it. [editline]12:28PM[/editline]
HEY EVERYONE, THE STORY IS IN KNOXVILLE, I LIVE IN KNOXVILLE WHERE THERE ARE NO REDNECKS its getting annoying with the "lol its tennessee lets go make jokes"
I live in Tennessee, and even I make jokes about it.
Of course they do, it's Tennessee.
:smug: I don't have a problem with atheists, I just hate when any discussion like this turns into "I hate Christians because they force their beliefs on me, let's find the nearest Christian and bash him, even if he says he hates Christian extremists too."
Well, anyone who agrees with this guy and wants the definition removed/revised is ignorant so we have every right to call them out.
I AM RETARDED AND NEED A BOOK TO TELL ME MY VIEWS. Which side am I referring too? It's a mystery!
Calling it a myth is the nice way of putting itl... Hopefully the board will realise that truth is more important than the possibility of offending people.
I don't necessarily agree or disagree with that father on this. Is evolution false? Chances are, no. However, there is nothing that says evolution means atheism. Theistic evolution is a somewhat popular belief, the belief that evolution was used by a Diety to create the world. However, the book shouldn't bash Christians or theistic evolution, regardless of scientific belief.
Calling it a myth is a statement of fact, not 'bashing'.
Calling it a myth is the nice way of putting it...
I agree.
Back to the biology book... I'll be honest I don't see the point of the creationist reference. It seems to just be there to piss off Christians. Just ignore creationism completely like most textbooks do.
Really? You read the chapter?
Zimmerman even said and I quote, "I'm not smart enough to pick that stuff up, they are." If you can't pick that up then why are you in that position?
Zimmerman even said and I quote, "I'm not smart enough to pick that stuff up, they are." If you can't pick that up then why are you in that position?
he's a Christian.. you don't have to be that intelligent to be in his position.
he's a Christian.. you don't have to be that intelligent to be in his position.
Sad but true
Sad but true
aren't you a Christian?

Th89 do you mind posting a copy of that textbook? I would like to read it. But creationism is a fucking biblical myth.
Haha, he said 'my moms' in the first line. [editline]12:16PM[/editline]
Th89 do you mind posting a copy of that textbook? I would like to read it. But creationism is a fucking biblical myth.
:geno:

I live in Georgia I can say this. Despite whether or not it's redneck it's still in the bible belt I've been there.

calling creationism a myth =/= criticizing Christianity, if anything it's more criticizing Judaism. Now if the book was a history book and said that Jesus didn't exist (which would be going a bit to far) then it would be criticizing Christianity. Then again it's bible belt Christians so what you gonna do.

fox news = Christian Retards
Lol Christians.
Lol Athiests. On a serious note: science
Oh hey Zimmermann, you go to my school.
There's no proof of creationism anyways.
