Reminds me of when he ordered one of the top generals in Iraq to shave Stephen colbert's head
healthcare
Obama had a decent healthcare bill until congress eviscerated it.
Obama had a decent healthcare bill until congress eviscerated it.
yes what he said he was going to do. i doubt he even wanted that and just said it to get elected.
but the moron just had to have "bipartisanship"
Yeah, this.
He's not terrible, just too inexperienced on the world stage.
If anything the world stage is where he is most experienced. He managed to repair the tarnished image of the U.S. a good amount in my opinion. Tons of people around the world love Obama.
Obama has got to be the greatest president at relations and publicity of all time.
I remember when presidents weren't celebrities.
Exclusive; President Badass-- I mean, Barack Obama ha reportedly bungie jumped off of the empire state building without a bungie cord. Will this badass survive?
No. :smithicide:
Obama has got to be the greatest president at relations and publicity of all time.
He, however, isn't near as badass as Teddy.
I remember when presidents weren't celebrities.
When the fuck was this?
Before time began.
Did the President of the United States say "Congratulations man"? I'm so proud, I share lingo with America's President.
This wouldn't work with Gordon Brown.
This wouldn't work with Gordon Brown.
"Brownie from the big L"
This wouldn't work with Gordon Brown.
Boris Johnson on the other hand...
He did it all wrong.
You never reveal your identity in a prank call.
Boris Johnson on the other hand...
Borris Johnson would sound like he was doing a prank call when trying to be Deadly Serious.
Still counts as a prank call.

I'm not (voluntarily) sending him my tax dollars to prank radio stations, GET BACK TO WORK! :argh:
From an outsider point of view I haven't seen Obama do anything to 'fuck' up his presidency as of yet, hell he's better than the last guy. Be grateful you have Obama we have Gordon Brown >.<
Haha, I'm from Virginia, makes it much more awesome.

Agreed. Most of my family, my dad in particular, (we live in the UK) went from "hurr all americans are redneck bushites that treat bush as god" to respecting America as a country and Americans as people because of Obama. America's overseas reputation has risen massively all because of Obama.

Oh give the guy a break, he has had a harder time than any PM in recent years and has coped with it admirably, but all he gets is "hurrr gordon brown is dumb hurrrrr". I mean seriously, he's had to to deal with the financial crisis (which wasn't his fault), resolving wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (which weren't his fault), a massive loss of faith in the government due to the expenses fiasco (which wasn't his fault, although he did add to it), and he was installed as PM at relatively short notice and just thrown into the middle of the whole mess, with no one giving him any support or having any confidence in him. He is not a good speaker, but Blair was and everyone hated him as well, he hasn't seriously messed anything up, and I think he deserves a little more respect than he gets. I am not saying he's a good PM, but he's not the blundering imbecile that everyone takes him for. He just needs to be given a chance.
I guess it's a better prank than the people who call in asking about mukipz or whatever the kids do these days.
I'm sure alot of his downfall isn't all his own fault but from even looking at the guy he comes across as a beat down and not fit for the job. He doesn't seem confident in himself so how can the public? He doesn't give swift enough action or opinions on matters and leaves it too late to react, whereas wen he was Chancellor this was acceptable it isn't for a Prime Minister when he has to react every single day to an issue.
Remember the expenses scandal? Cameron took swift and authoritarian action which you expect from the leader of a nation yet Brown didn't say much.
He just doesn't seem a person which the average person can relate to.

Actually, I thought his actions on the Northern Rock situation, which required quick thinking, were fast, decisive and succesful.
Some Americans should say something to keep the thread on track now.
Let me blackberry.
Hey barry!
I love obama as a person but not as a president.
p much this
Obama takes the presidency as fun.
It's pretty damn cool. He reminds me a lot of Clinton, except Clinton was black.
You reminded me of Bubba Ho-Tep.
You're awesome, I give you that.
Impeach his ass!!!
impeach him in the ass!!!

How can he be confident in his own abilities if no one is at all confident in him and he has faced nothing but criticism?

As the above poster said, he was quick about the Northern Rock issue.

Whatever. As I said, he is not a good PM, but he is not as bad as everyone makes out.

I still think that he's a bad leader for the party though, showmanship seems to count for alot these days.
He does have some good old-labour style beliefs (Americans: this translates as "omg communist!!!!") which I like, but hasn't had the same level of control of parliament as Blair.
Also, his constant derailing of the Euro when he was chancellor pissed me off.
I apologise (apologize) to americanians for not talking about their president though. Makes a difference for something about the US to turn into a conversation about UK politics though.

I've never heard the word "authoritarian" used in a positive manner. :crossarms:
