You can't even jump in Doom 1/2!!!
Welp back to my tacticool realistic shooters.
I want a price before I get this, I would get it for ROE as long as it's only $30 at most.

I believe Todd Hollenshead said it'd be around 20-25 bucks.
Actually nevermind. Misread about how it would start.
(It starts after Bravo team gets wiped out in that garage area at Enpro)
Andddd there's one survivor?
That's how Doom: Resurrection on iOS starts out. Wow, are the simply copying and pasting content?

You can jump in Doom 2.
thats how pretty much every horror game about a squad starts
Yeah but they could've changed it. From that post, it already sounds like a copy and paste of Doom: Resurrection on iOS.
What was the story of Doom: Resurrection?
You wake up in the garage, your entire team is dead. So you walk around looking for open doors when this big door opens and a scientist and a floating robot is inside. After some dialogue about "jeezus you scared me!" You take the floating robot, named Sam. The plot then follows Doom 3, the protoganist going into Hell and defeating a boss. Then, at the last level, the protagonist and Sam the robot make it to the evac, but Sam dies from holding a door open for the protagonist.
I'm sure it won't copy all of that because it;s too similar to D3 but damn they could've changed it.
You can jump in Doom 2.
no you can't, you can jump in the source ports but that's it
uh how often do you hang around 12 year old kids you creep
are you joking
didn't the silent hill hd collection get rid of a lot of the fog which made the game look like ass?
that was probably due to limitations of the engine at the time. can't render that much on screen. it did make the games way spookier though.
It would be nice if the "Lost Mission" would be offered as a DLC pack for people who already own the game(s).
Playing as a marine in Bravo team will be neat. (and it's new content!)
Shame it'll be such a short mission and we kind of already know how it'll end.
I wonder if you'll be able to see Doomguy (The guy you play as in Doom 3, we still call him that right?) fighting his way through the base here and there too.
There was a hallway in I think was sector 2 of the Alpha Labs where you saw the squad moving through an area from behind a large window. You, of course, never managed to link up with them.
Beyond that though, there really isn't any reason for me to buy this.

Man that bit where you could see Bravo Team hoofing it out of there was shit as fuck, those cunts had to wait like 30 seconds max for me to get down there and we would have been good to go. Instead they had to run off and fucking die, leaving me to carry the rest of the human race in my backpack.

the fog both created atmosphere and hid the shitty draw distance

the hd collection both killed the atmosphere and failed to hide the shitty draw distance and incomplete maps
John Carmack having trouble with the PS3 is a pretty solid sign that the architecture is ridiculously inconvenient.
If consoles weren't so fucking old there wouldn't be much of a problem.
Also it would be cool if it had CO-OP, I tried the mod that adds CO-OP with a friend and it was really fun.

It does.

Or that he has no real understanding of/ access to documentation of it. But yes. It's said to be ridicilously inconvenient by sugar-holics.
Wow are you all missing the point? Who cares if you've bought Doom 3 a hundred times in the past, it's never had achievements before!!!
trolol consoles r shit
Please switch it for the original Doom3 on Steam.

Dude, the PS3 seperates it's processor unit into 8 "cell" processors, making game optimization difficult. Not to mention they cut the RAM in half so only 256 MB of actual RAM is going to the game while the other 256 is for "other" processes.

you're talking about a dude who looks at his bathroom while showering and thinks of shaders and reflective mapping techniques.

Plus the Cell isn't a x86 or normal PPC CPU, so if there is any ASM in the code used, it pretty much needs to be removed to redone. It's a funny architecture, with a funny way of handling memory and some odd restrictions here and there. So the only developers who really know how to make a game work well are the first party ones basically, because they can get much more help from Sony. Though Carmack struggling with it doesn't instantly mean it's an awful platform, just one he isn't used to.

Wasn't RAGE on PS3 a port anyways?
Wasn't RAGE on PS3 a port anyways?
I believe so. It's very rare for a multi-platform game to use the PS3 as the lead.

But hey, it can do everything....except 60 FPS.
I hope this has out of the box widescreen support, I can't get it to work with my copy of Doom 3
you and 3 other people on earth
Funny, everybody used to hate the flashlight system. There were even mods released to fix it. Now people love it for some reason.

It's like people forgive the game of its flaws when it reaches a certain age
You've gone into Doom 3's console and did:
r_mode -1
r_customwidth <>
r_customheight <>
r_aspectratio <>
vid_restart
right?
I remember those commands by heart playing enemy territory
I don't think r_aspectratio is necessary though, I've never needed to use it

I always liked it, the only flashlight mod I got was one that made the shotgun have a light and that is it. I mostly used the MG-88 Enforcer or Plasma gun anyways.
This type of flashlight system is much more fun to use than a flashlight that lasts for like 10 seconds and then has to recharge or you need new batteries.
God, just think...
It would take me an hour tops to drive down to them and try out that fancy 3D display they have going.
(I live in Dallas)
Shame i'm not important :c

Yeah I tried that and it always defaulted to 800x600 or something like that.
