From now on, this shall be what we say with my friend after our secret handshake.
Did you miss the part where it says "fuck consent", orrrr...? That's a blatant intent to commit rape, dude. Like you can argue the racism part, but he's outright saying he wants to rape women
I agree that he should get expelled -- he's a potential rapist -- knowing the email but if this IS a personal email then it's an invasion of privacy either way.
a lot of people seem to dislike the idea of monitoring everyone's phone calls, emails and shit to find criminals then shit like this happens then suddenly they're glad it exists
Does anyone else think the people talking like this about "greek life" sound creepy and religious about it too or is it just me?
I've considered that before. I think some organizations probably function similarly with things like hazing (effectively a means of institutionalization), you have to be careful who you associate yourself with - but the same can be said of any group.

College is not a government. They deserve the right to know what their students are planning on their property, especially if it's blatantly planning to rape women.
"Our community/church helps run fundraisers and food drives! (and rapes little boys/drunken women in the back room, but ignore that part)"
What do you think sororities are? Do they rape people? You have sketchy people in organizations of all types. It's sad to see people make those sorts of generalities when a lot of us just want to spend time with a couple friends and do some good on our days off.

-snip-
turns out the email was just submitted by somebody, so this reply is basically pointless

"a few bad apples spoil the whole batch" I guess
reminds me when there were stories of bad cops and it became popular to assume all cops were like that
Hey, I go here. I know a few guys in that frat. Remember though not everyone in that frat is this bad, someone had to report the email after all
I like how this is the best insult this inbred fuckwad in the email could come up with. Like the fuck you talking about curry is fucking awesome.
He's apparently not even smart enough to just look up what sluts to call Indians and Pakistanis.
Like seriously what the fuck is a curry monster lmao
How do you write that and not immediately hate yourself?
How do you write that and not immediately hate yourself?
Greek letters = immediate douche
Reading the entire email, the guy should be investigated by the POLICE for conspiracy to commit rape. Fuck the university's investigation, where's the real one?

I don't think that's a crime, but if it was, I think it entails something more specific than a general statement of "fuck consent". Saying stupid and offensive shit isn't a crime, especially in what was originally a private communication.
Greek letters = immediate douche
Oh... :(
I'm getting curious about what personal experiences you've guys have had with greek life that's making you all hate it. There's a lot of blind group-thinking that goes on in frats so I understand the bad rep but it seems like something you guys feel strongly about.

"Fuck consent" is a literal admission of intent to commit rape
It goes far beyond stupid and offensive into the territories of planning to commit violent crime.

though you have to admit, there are a few stories of people getting fined (or worse) for posting the dumbest things online. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that they can get in some legal trouble over this.
Hahaha this is like every frat bro boiled down to pure racist/rapey extract. Get behind closed doors where they think nobody is listening and you'll hear the same shit at any rich, white frat. This dumb bastard just had the bad luck to say it in text.
what are frats?
is it some kind of freemason things for shitlords?
"Fuck consent" is a literal admission of intent to commit rape
It could be vaguely interpreted as stating intention to rape. It could however be interpreted differently. He could be expressing disapproval of consent, which does not mean he intended on not asking altogether.
This is not really an issue though. You and anyone who thinks this is constitutes a crime is either trying to find a crime that you can convict this person of because you dislike him and want to abuse the legal system to see him punished for writing offensive things, or you are one of those people who treats anything rape-related as if it is equivocal to bombing an orphanage.
My problem with the former is that it tramples on free speech, which I believe should cover offensive speech. My problem with the latter is that it perpetuates a dogma that, should it become more widespread, will make fair trial difficult in rape cases. This is demonstrated right here in this thread with the fact people want to see criminal charges placed on this person because of two words.

It's undoubtedly possible, but certainly not right.

I know someone who was bullied out of greek life for being vocal about their political views so that's why I don't like them. Along with being breeding grounds for dudebros and how really creepy and cult like some people are about defending Greek life and trying to get people into it.

Free speech ends when people are in danger. He's showing a clear intent to rape women, this is beyond free speech, It's like expecting a post on Facebook that says "I'm gonna pop a nigger today, guys, brb" not to get the police bashing down your door for intent to commit murder
If he said that he thinks rape should be legal, that would fall under free speech. It would be fucking despicable, but it would be free speech. Like people who say blacks are lesser humans are using free speech. Shitty none the less, but legal.

Hey, pop quiz time. What do you call sex without consent?
Seriously, this isn't exactly open to interpretation.
There's 0 way in hell that this is real. No one has ever used the term 'fuck consent', let alone be this over-the-top stupidly vulgar. Something about this just seems fake inherently - maybe leaked from the inside, for publicity, I don't know.
I HOPE this isn't real.

Frats are the condensed dregs of rich american douchebros, I'd be shocked if it wasn't real

I encourage you to look at the phrase a little more objectively. Interpreting "fuck consent" as meaning "I do not approve of consent" or "I do not think consent is necessary", I cannot see any clear admission that he intends to rape someone. At the most extreme, he is expressing that he does not thing he needs to explicitly ask for permission when he's about to have sex with someone. This does not necessarily mean that he intends to have sex with someone who does not want to have sex, which is legally universally agreed upon as being rape (I'm unsure if Maryland has laws that involve both parties not explicitly consenting to have sex as constituting rape). Note my clarification that this is an extreme interpretation. Even if you do find that objectful, the fact is that his statement is vague, even in context of the fact he was planning on talking about getting "rachet" during their rush week.

I personally suspect this person does not actually think this way and adopted that way of speaking and acting because his frat acts like that. I had friends in school who acted like that sometimes with certain people, even though they also had friends of other races.
He could be expressing disapproval of consent
Holy shit what

"No it's okay guys, I have a friend who's black!"
"No it's okay guys, I have a friend who's black!"
The specific friend I was thinking of had a mutual friend of ours who was not white, and in our conversations away from him, me and my friend spoke highly of that person. They hung out together freely and they enjoyed each other's company. Yet this same friend also said racist things similar to those found in the email posted in the OP when he was with another group of friends. How could my friend think so negatively of non-white people yet have a non-white friend? The only rational justification I can come up with is that the person wasn't racist, the person just acted like that around a certain group of people he liked because he felt he should in order to fit in.

"I have a friend who was intimidated into acting racist for approval from racists"?

I have a friend who said stupid things because his other friends said stupid things and he probably thought it was acceptable to speak that way because those people spoke that way.
I don't even think those people actually felt that strongly about those kinds of people, I think they just thought acting like an edgy racist was hilarious.

That speaks hilariously low about your friends you know
"""edgy""" racist humor is pretty much the bottom of the barrel when it comes to jokes
