Who gives a fuck about Kanye seriously? Steal Daft Punk's shit, get out People actually listen and buy into this cunt
Haha, did you really seriously mean that?
rip journalism
That shit cray
if someone who's not Kanye West fired someone for being late I have a feeling the reaction would be different. namely, there wouldn't be one
I'm still waiting for someone to make an epicly harsh racism joke.
"epicly"
Who gives a fuck about Kanye seriously? Steal Daft Punk's shit, get out People actually listen and buy into this cunt
lol sampling isn't stealing. when is this? 1980?
Daft Punk even performs the song with him from time to time.
Even though he is a dick, I don't think that the driver will win in court. I mean Kanye employs him, so he has the right to fire or lay anybody off at any time.
-snip- Never mind, I'm wrong. I don't think such a rule applies for other countries either.
Not without a grace period. Employees are allowed a warning and a chance to improve themselves before they get fired.
we don't know if he's had no previous incidents though.
That shit cray
Ain't it Jay? Even if Kanye is a tremendous asshole, is music is simply off the wall.
Even though he is a dick, I don't think that the driver will win in court. I mean Kanye employs him, so he has the right to fire or lay anybody off at any time.
Well if he had said in good time "I will need X amount of food by Y time" sure, but this was more of a case of "Feel like having something to eat, and I want it from that place, get it for me within an hour". Either way I'm quite sure the driver won't win. Kanye was a dick but I'm quite sure it's in his right to fire him. [editline]19th February 2012[/editline]
ahahahahahaha you'd be the type of guy to shoot someone for being late on the job, i'm sure good luck surviving out there, buddy
If you accept people being late for job you won't survive out there, especially not in a leadership position. This is different because it's a sudden task that was almost impossible to complete in time, but if someone comes late for regular work, he should be happy to even get a second chance.
Maybe he's a diabetic and his low blood sugar made him cranky and impulsive or he really is an ass
This is retarded, the driver couldn't get the job done in decent time, and so he got fired. Where's the silliness in this? So what Kanye was strict and fired the driver? They have a contract that probably allows that. Plus, it's not like "Driving Kanye West" is a stable well remunerated job.
Kanye gave the driver a physically impossible task and then fired him for failing at it.
In the eye of the employer, this wasn't a minor fuckup. However, the legality of his dischargement should be explicit in his contract.
I'm pretty sure inside the EU you can't write employment contracts like that. But then again he could have hired the person in the US under US law etc.
Kanye would make a good Bond villain if he were more interested in world domination.
Not without a grace period. Employees are allowed a warning and a chance to improve themselves before they get fired.
I have never heard of any such laws regarding being fired, at least in the U.S.
Not without a grace period. Employees are allowed a warning and a chance to improve themselves before they get fired.
He's an at will employee. Unless they have some specific kind of contract, he can be fired at any time, for any or no reason without notice. If he did have some kind of union or contract, then he could sue for a breach of contract, but I doubt he does. But Kanye is still an asshole. For this and other reasons.
I'mma let you finish. But FedEx had some of the best deliveries of ALL TIME!
He can fire him for whatever he wants, he is privately employed I don't understand why you guys are even debating this. Also, as much as Kanye is a complete douche (trust me, no one will argue that), you can't deny that he is extremely talented and makes incredible music. Bitching about the Daft Punk sample and saying "people buy into his crap" just shows that you know nothing about his music.
you can't deny that he is extremely talented and makes incredible music.
Maybe a lot of people like him. I even listen to a couple of his songs every now and again myself. But that's just about as subjective as subjective gets, and it is indeed possible to deny that someone has particular talent or makes good music.

He's just the average musician with fame, nothing super special. He's a unique flowers in a field of unique flowers.
It's his money, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. Wouldn't you, if you were a rich fuck, want to do whatever you want??
Because we fucking care about our workers in this country, as in any EU country, and have regulations ensuring that you can't fire someone over a single, minor fuckup.
I prefer American 'fire and forget'. I'm paying them, if they dont get the job done, I should not have to pay them. Simple. The government should have no say.
So I guess you're perfectly fine with the idea of giving an employee a task that is impossible to complete (getting lunch on time in UK traffic) just so you can fire them for not completing it.
I would get my own lunch. But if this was relating to a trivial task, and he was two HOURS late, I would tell him to fuck off.
I would get my own lunch. But if this was relating to a trivial task, and he was two HOURS late, I would tell him to fuck off.
2 hours late is early when you take UK traffic into account. What would have wanted him to do? Drive THROUGH the traffic?
2 hours late is early when you take UK traffic into account. What would have wanted him to do? Drive THROUGH the traffic?
Raed. I wouldn't have him get my lunch. I would get it myself. But I still advocate firing people on the spot. It makes running a company much smoother.

There's a reason why there are laws protecting employees from this sort of thing. Imagine a bus driver being fired for being late because an accident happened in front of him. Imagine a waiter being fired because one of the chefs caught on fire.

Really now? I know KW can be an arrogant dick and all, but I somehow doubt he's THAT bad.
lol you don't even know the full story, and how do you know he wasn't a repeat offender and brought it to the media to make him look like the good guy? Really now?
This is Kanye West we are talking about. There is no way Kanye West of all people would let a repeat offense happen.
The numpty threatened to have a whole section of the audience booted out after claiming the act was life-threatening. He picked up the card and yelled: “Who’s card is this? We are risking our lives up here. You can’t go throwing shit that we are gonna slip on.”
''I FUCKING TOLD YOU!'' EDIT: ''Who threw that?!''
