• Capcom to remove Games for Windows Live from PC titles

I bought OTR last week. For GFWL I use the local account option since my Internet is VERY spotty. Thing is though that is constantly logs me out of my local account and into my online account. It's fucking frustrating, and I'm glad that devs are making a run to the hills and as far away from services like it.
Maybe Dead Rising 2 will actually play above 15fps.
GFWL what dark times for PC gaming. It can't close down soon enough.
I've beaten Dead Rising 1 on my friend's 360 and had a massive blast, I for example got that insane Zombie Genocider achievement. Naturally I feel very invested in the series and I got the sequel where I played about half-way through before I got a new computer and had to reinstall the game. I then however had lost my GFWL loggin info and can't for the life of me remember what it was named or which one it was of the various GFWL accounts I've made in the past when I've forgotten the info and had issues retrieving it. Needless to say I hate GFWL with a passion as when it's not making it a pain in the ass to play my games it's outright refusing to let me play them. This recent trend is good news at its finest.
I've just recently started to play through the Dead Rising series again for the fun of it. Completed DR1, DR2 and now I've got to finish Case: Zero, West and OTR. I don't mind if I have to get Frank and Chuck back up to Lv. 50 on the PC versions, plus, we might get the achievements, cards and loads of other stuff. GFWL was a pain for me also, I deleted the actual program quite a while ago and I forgot that Dead Rising needed it to run. Glad to see it being kicked off.
I really really hate GWFL, activating DLC is impossible. I bought the complete edition of GTA IV but Episodes of Liberty City isn't in the game. I've had similar problems with Arkham City and activating the various DLC in that game.
In SF4, I had to remove people from my friends list if I wanted to join private lobbies. Seriously, GFWL wouldn't let me connect to anyone on my friends list for literally no reason :v:
Just a quick warning, when GFWL was removed from Arkham Asylum/City everyone's saves were deleted as they were tied to their GFWL account. So if you haven't finished your game yet, you better should start doing so.
I guess i'm good then, because GFWL was always so messed up that it never let me save in GTA4 and DR2 to begin with. v:v:v
Maybe Dead Rising 2 will actually play above 15fps.
I couldn't get it above 6 with GFWL enabled. If you reinstall GFWL and don't allow it to update it works but you'll have to set it up to save locally and you can't co-op (which is the best part)
Now lets just hope GTAV uses Steamworks instead of that awkward Social Club thing.
And I just bought Dead Rising 2 a few days ago and went through all the hoops to get it work. Nevertheless, I am okay with this news. :v:

I don't really like all the games heading over to steamworks, valve is pretty much ending up with a monopoly.
I don't really like all the games heading over to steamworks, valve is pretty much ending up with a monopoly.
Which one's better, a single platform what works well or multiple crappy platforms?
I don't really like all the games heading over to steamworks, valve is pretty much ending up with a monopoly.
they never said they're going to steamworks also I'd be fine with some steam competition but all the ones made are coming from companies with even more corporate mindset than Valve and end up with shitty inferior products as a result. It's not like your typical monopoly. They aren't using aggressive business tactics to push a cheaper product. Everyone else is trying that without the established base required
I hope they do this to bulletstorm. I'm one of the few fucking idiots who bought it for $60 at launch only for GFWL not to work and making me download a crack to play it. Then they called us all pirates and said the next game would be console exclusive
Going to reinstall DR2 once gfwl is gone.
I don't really like all the games heading over to steamworks, valve is pretty much ending up with a monopoly.
No one forces them to use Steamworks, they can switch to any other service. Just because Steam is the most popular and user liked option it doesn't mean they're forced into it. Like how Rockstar can use Social Club, as they do in Max Payne 3.
I don't really like all the games heading over to steamworks, valve is pretty much ending up with a monopoly.
Maybe if Microsoft would have taken the effort to improve Game for Windows Live, it would have been a strong alternative that people didn't hate with a passion. Clearly didn't want to invest in the PC market since they have the Xbox platform. Besides, there are good alternatives to Steam; so it's not a bad situation yet. Many other distributors have had better deals then Steam lately; and a good majority of them end up having Steam Works anyway.
