No matter how many times you say this, people can't get this through their thick little heads. Mw2 was in no way a rehash as said. It was actually quite different, and it only really had a few real problems, which Activision then made even worse. Everything was an improvement. Graphics, sounds, gameplay... And very entertaining to boot. The graphics were soo fucking pretty actually, and the singleplayer, despite with a few holes, had some pretty sweet parts. It saddens me that it's dead, because it ended up being a memorable online experience, and actually a good one at that. I feel like people exaggerated on the bad things by A LOT.
I think the biggest problem with Modern Warfare 2 was because it followed Modern Warfare 1 and, as such, the expectations were pretty much impossible to match. That said, the 4 hour campaign, despite being excellent in my opinion, put people off for being gone in a single sitting.
It really shows what the fall of IW did to the MW series, going from inovation to just copy pasting and changing a few things here and there. Hell, even Bowling quit after Mw3, and if I recall it was because of not being able to do great things anymore. Treyarch better watch out so they don't fall on the same routine.
He called the COD community a bunch of shit heads on twitter when he resigned, I honestly cannot blame him for his anger. IW got into some finical shit during mw3 development where Activision wasn't paying them enough from the total profit sold I think, a big portion of IW left and went on to another studio to make a new IP later in the future. So Raven Software and Sledgehammer came in to pretty much assist but they didn't do quite as well and hence why mw3 blows. Treyarch should make their own IP and game, I reckon they could do it, they do a great job with their versions of COD so I couldn't see why not.
"Where the fuck are the Doritos and Mountain Dew people when you need them?!"
Marketing with Halo. people are getting their holiday shooters mixed up.

Graphism, sounds, gameplay... All of that, it was a large improvement. While the campaign was a bit bonkers compared to the first, it was a different kind of bonkers. The parts with the Rangers were extremely cool mainly because of the characters. Dunn for example always felt like a bro, and that's from one game. The parts as TF141 were also pretty cool because you went to all kinds of places to do all kinds of things. Through snowy mountains, sandy deserts, favelas, oilrigs, the gulag, the motherfucking gulag was so cool... However, it did fell short of expectations. Mainly on the multiplayer, where the peer2peer system completely killed its lifespan by probably less than a 1/4 compared to MW and less player capacity, bugs, glitches, hackers here and there, and imo, the dynamics of the spawn system were bad compared to the first. It used to feel like a fight out of the singleplayer, where you always start on one side with all your team there, and then progressed through, dying or killing, and the spawn spots would rotate. On Mw2, you'd spawn right next to an enemy if you had bad luck... On the singleplayer, it was just a lot of plot holes and Ghost. But I feel this is too much about opinions. I for example quite liked the multiplayer compared to MW1's, even though it doesn't stands anymore and mw1 is way more simple. And yes, it sort of ended up falling short of expectations. People expected something completely new and perfect, and started moaning at the sight of the slightest thing they didn't like.
Commander pro was the best perk of mw2 hands down
