I'm expecting a massive influx of br users to skype.
Can't I just use Pidgin instead?
Pidgin is great. Unfortunately, it doesn't support Skype.

But I really miss having custom emoticons I used to use the FP smileys all the time, with the same shortcuts
I looked at my msn convos before i reformated my PC from like 2006 and my spelling was horrific, good times on webcams to girls though heh
Skype UI is so poor, and they keep removing features which have been around for a long time. Skype recently auto updated to version 6 (I think) and I couldn't change the UI so that the Skype home thing, and my active conversation, on the right wasn't there and it was in multiple windows which I like. I ended up installing 5.10 again.

This is a shame because I used MSN to send pictures to a mate of mine, and MSN worked flawlessly for it. no, it wasn't my dick.

Messenger will remain only in China, IE6 has 20% usage in China. What the fuck, does Zedong execute for using new software?
Ha, so they fucked up in a panic and misread Messenger for SKYPE in that scare message !
Not really used Messenger properly in about 3 years, I mean I sign into it and a few other accounts using Pidgin but that's it. I really hope they improve the Skype application, I can't stand the default non-"compact" view and it seems to get more and more bloated with every update a lot like WLM did when I last used the official application. At least that had aPatch to remove all the ads and sponsoured linkage I guess... Also the Linux version of Skype seems to have just been abandoned and left to decompose Another good thing about Messenger was there were alternative clients available whereas Skype seems a little more closed in that respect, which is unfortunate
Honestly facebook and skype completely removed any purpose to MSN, it was great in the day but I use those 2 services everyday and it works perfectly tho i really hate skypes offline messenging system its fucking horrible, hopefully msn extends some of the msn charm into Skype
"all users will be migrated to Skype" So does this mean the message app in 8 will be automatically replaced in an upcoming update with skype? EDIT: logged in on my skype for the first time in a year. THE APP VERSION DO NOT FUCKING ALLOW ME TO DELETE PEOPLE. dammit I don't want to install two versions.
I'll probably miss messenger, though WLM started to become really shitty with all its bloated nonsense after a while. At least with Skype I don't feel the need to constantly a-patch it every time an update is released. Though there are some quirks in Skype I think need to be worked out.

I think it was full of adware and bloatware though.
the image sharing in wlm was one of the best ways to quickly share pictures with someone.
i want it so bad in skype
I hope that means a massive improvement of skype. I switched a month or so ago and I shed a tear for my 10-or-so year companion. And since touchscreens are totally in now, BRING BACK FUCKING HANDWRITING
I was like 11 when I used to use it how the hell do you expect me to know.
so was I...
I remember them majorly fucking up the ios version of skype in a patch only months after microsoft acquired them. They still haven't fixed it
i'm really gonna miss this piece of shit mannnn... this and limewire on windows xp, that was the best setup
I still use MSN and sure as hell won't use Skype, for some reason my webcam works perfectly with the former but not the latter. I moved to facebook messenger like, two days ago because I had to format and you can't download msn from WLessentials anymore.
Fuck, skype is really fucking laggy on my android and it takes a lot of space
Fuck, skype is really fucking laggy on my android and it takes a lot of space
Space? How small card do you have?
It takes up like 10mb of phone space even if you move it to your card. And i have a ZTE Blade, no much internal space and it kinda uses the same memory for RAM. [editline]10th January 2013[/editline] Or atleast i think so. Well it gets slow if i have many apps installed.

Nooo. :( So many memories of MSN back in the day. I hate to see it go considering how much I've used it to have very important conversations. Some of them basically changed my life. Ah well, change happens, just hope they make Skype measure up to what MSN was good for - simple text communication. No bullshit. (Until recently of course, it might as well die now with that bing social shit)
