I'm NOT okay with this. In fact, I fucking hate it. My girlfriend lives in England, so we only get to meet once in a blue moon. Her university does something to Skype (similar to how my school blocks the Steam servers), and a video chat doesn't last longer than about 5 minutes before the call crashes, and her internet gives up for about 2 hours. So we use MSN instead so we can talk over video chat, because that seemingly works where Skype doesn't. So great. What now.
Now Ekiga and SIP communication. Works kinda like Skype.
i remember when i still had msn messenger 7.0
This is a shame because I used MSN to send pictures to a mate of mine, and MSN worked flawlessly for it. no, it wasn't my dick.
Yes it was don't lie. Why would you even add that... unless you were denying it?!?!?!? [editline]11th January 2013[/editline]
MSN has pretty kickass picture sharing though, you can literally draw something in paint, lasso it and ctrl+v it in the chat box and it shows up in pic share Skype can't pic share for shit
you can send files still pretty damn good though TBH.
:c RIP Messenger, I met my 1st gf through that shit lol.
I don't have a problem with the skype ui, I never had a problem with the offline message system, and it doesn't slow me down at all. I don't comprehend what people are upset with.
I started using Messenger when I was perhaps 9, so in 2004. Last time I used it was maybe 2008, when I was 13. I think I'm going to have to log on once just to check all my old chatlogs. Seriously, what on earth did I chat about back then?
The chat logs are stored locally.... are you using the same hard drive?
the skype smileys are fucking retarded
but
I take back liking skype, they took out html in im support in the newest version ;_;
Luckily i still have some old portable version of skype where you can turn off automatic updates - i also write protected all the executable files just in case - I hope they won't make changes that require a new client to be used so i can keep using this forever :v: http://www.mediafire.com/?ct6dovxo8jhxaup
Ah, so many memories in MS Messenger. Remember when you could draw? Me and my girlfriend would sit there having full conversations by drawing pictures ahaha! It was fun! Ahaha now I can draw as well with the mouse as I can with a pen/pencil. Oh god I remember drawing a SHIT ton of dicks.
but
For some reason I always find it fun to post people's names prefixed with some other country's flag (using e.g. "(flag:ca)" for Canada), as if to say they're from that country. I don't know why.

Not impressed. It pissed me off when I could no longer use the messenger client that came with Office XP. That version enabled features like whiteboard. Now MSN auto-kicks the client for being too old. Pidgin for Irix hasn not been updated in AGES. When the transition happens the client becomes useless for me. Skype has been a bloated piece of shit for ages to me. It won't even allow me to install it on P233 gear anymore.
There was a messenger client that came with Office XP? I know there used to be Windows Messenger but never noticed that....
This is how msn looks to me now using apatch. Any skype mods/clients to make it more simplified/remove bullshit?
I am going to miss MSN Messenger (i always called it that and used it since 2005 but stopped in 2010)....
This is a shame because I used MSN to send pictures to a mate of mine, and MSN worked flawlessly for it. no, it wasn't my dick.
Liar
RIP Messenger, you have served me well and will continue to do so until your last choking breath. I use Skype alongside messenger a lot nowadays, mainly because Skype's voice/video quality is quite a bit better, at least in my experience, but I will miss Messenger.
