On the one hand, it's really terrible that out government has been brought down to such a low level that this should happen at all. On the other hand, getting to experience first-hand what might be the greatest political scandal/drama ever is really exciting. You just can't write this shit.
i think saying Russia usurped the US is a little much. it's not like all Trump's cronies are Russian agents like Manafort, just narcissists way out of their depth. we need to keep a careful balance between recognizing Russia's capabilities while not losing our heads and thinking they've taken over the world. that line of thinking helps them just as much as the opposite does.
Hence:
and deliberately shoved incompetent or malignant people in charge.
I'm not saying they've taken over the world, or Mueller would already be on his ass out. I'm saying they've put their candidate in the WH, and that candidate has made a right cockup of things, and those cockups will have to go, or what's the point of all this.

Something so repulsive and disgusting but you find yourself unable to look away.
Mueller is to start interviewing current administration officials 'as early as this week', White House comms director Hope Hicks is scheduled to be interviewed in mid-November https://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/31/mueller-russia-investigation-hope-hicks-interview-244382
Null. Two people that are relatively minor are receiving charges due to money laundering and false income reports. Trump will be out of office in 2025 after his re-election, and I don’t know why people keep putting their money on Mueller’s goose chase
is that what all the evidence suggests is most likely to you, or do you just default to the most miserable thing you can think of?
While people shouldn't jump the gun and think this will be the end of Trump asap, people should also stop defaulting to miserable outcomes and being overly pessimistic. That attitude is exactly what will help Trump and his administration and all of their supporters to keep getting away with everything, and is just another side of the same coin that was the complacency before the elections. A lot of things and surprises happened under a span of the year in 2016, a lot more can happen this year and the next.

It wasn't long ago that the narrative was that it'd be years before we saw anyone be charged, if anything. It's been 6~ months (I think?) and we already have direct evidence of campaign officials greenlighting secret meetings with Russians during the campaign, as well as a guilty plea from an advisor and the campaign manager facing 20+ years for laundering Russian money.

Thought to be a combination of intentional tactics - trying to move fast to avoid getting bogged down, shut down, or outflanked - as well as the fact that the FBI was already investigating a lot of this stuff prior to his appointment, so he was able to hit the ground running when he was appointed.
is that what all the evidence suggests is most likely to you, or do you just default to the most miserable thing you can think of?
Bit of both. People are getting really lazy and just hoping Mueller fixes everything for them rather than looking for new candidates for senate/congress/governorship. The GOP has a very easy chance of whipping the rug out from under us, again, if people just put all of their money on the investigation.
They're investigating this using the same tactics as they would to take down an organized crime syndicate, working their way up the ladder, flipping one person on the next biggest fish, and so on. Papadopoulos bagged Manafort and Clovis. Who next? It's fascinating to watch.
I just love how the narrative switched from "Clinton wants to go to war with Russia" to "She was in with the Russians the whole time! Fake neeeeewwwwws!!!"
Lol I forgot about this. We've gone from "hey I'd rather have Trump than war with Russia" to "Clinton was the one working with the Russians the whole time!"
Null. Two people that are relatively minor are receiving charges due to money laundering and false income reports. I already bet my account he'd be out by 2018.
Willing to Toxx on that? I bet my account he's out by 2018.
Surely you don't mean Trump will be out of office in the next 60 days??
Bit of both. People are getting really lazy and just hoping Mueller fixes everything for them rather than looking for new candidates for senate/congress/governorship. The GOP has a very easy chance of whipping the rug out from under us, again, if people just put all of their money on the investigation.
saying that the special counsel and the upcoming midterm elections share some kind of occult cause and effect is completely baseless as of yet and could only really be known by extensive research done in retrospect. by implication you're actually saying that the investigation to correct abuses against our democracy is harmful to democracy. it's just bad cynicism.
Willing to Toxx on that? I bet my account he's out by 2018.
I don't think it will happen that soon, at best if everything goes as it should he probably wouldn't be ousted until mid next year
Willing to Toxx on that? I bet my account he's out by 2018.
By 2018? So two months? Impeachment proceedings would take longer than that. Resignation probably would, too.
By 2018? So two months? Impeachment proceedings would take longer than that. Resignation probably would, too.
Pretty sure he meant within the next 14 months
Pretty sure he meant within the next 14 months
I think that is what he meant as well, but the post could've been phrased better.
don't make any insane toxx's yet before you have more solid ground to bet upon. i had to wrap my dick in duct tape for my toxx, learned my lesson
If Trump isn't out of office by 4pm EST tomorrow I'll eat an entire bag of discounted candy.

We don't even know what the government will look like when this is all said and done, but we should strive to make sure it's the best it can be. It's just as important for the people to prop up good candidates as it is for the investigators to weed out the corrupt ones.
Thank you! It wasn't long ago that the narrative was that it'd be years before we saw anyone be charged, if anything. It really is nice to see some progress and results like this just within 6 months or so. Anything can still happen, whether it'd slow down or things move forward even faster, but either way hopefully this keeps up!
Surely you don't mean Trump will be out of office in the next 60 days??
To clarify I made my toxx a loong time ago and I'm probably gonna lose. But I'm sticking to my word, as should someone who's convinced that Trump is invincible and will be re-elected. This investigation isn't playing around - almost 50% of America is for his impeachment. If you're sure that everyone is wasting their time, stand by it imo.

A lot changes in 4 years.
Leaked text messages from Manafort's daughter paint a frightening picture of just how involved he truly was. https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_59f748b6e4b03cd20b832fe0/amp
i can't wait to see manafort testify, it's gonna be a beautiful trainwreck goddamn how do you stumble that hard

A blog post about a darknet leak from a mail.ru address?
