If I can have a retard run like the first two, I'll be a happy man.
I didn't like FC3 for its lore rape and empty barren landscape, NV had much more of a community feel to it and was colourful in story-line, quests and atmosphere. Everything felt very green in F3 and very one dimensional.
Imagine if FC3 was molded with New Vegas in terms of looks and scenery, would of easily been my GOTY.
NV was way more barren than FC3, I could not travel for more than 100 meters without falling bored and opening the console and typing player.setscale 10
I hope it has coop, roaming the wasteland with a friend would be a lot of fun..
But I'm probably being optimistic.

god that was the most amazing thing in 1 and 2 lmao
They can fuck off if its still using Gamebryo.
The Creation Engine is only a mild improvement.
If I can have a retard run like the first two, I'll be a happy man.
Oh man setting character intelligence to 0 in the first 2 was fucking hilarious, I wish those kinds of things would actually affect dialogue again.
When it comes to fallout 3 bugs though, most of them were absolutely hilarious
I once somehow fired an enclave robot 20m into the air and had it stand there sniping everyone with rockets
I enjoyed both games, and they both rank pretty high on my "favorite games of all time" list, but I'm still a bit worried.
Looking back on it, Fallout 3's writing was a bit... Wonky. I enjoyed it, but some of the flaws are a bit glaringly obvious now that people have pointed them out.
On another note, I never really had much of a problem with bugs in New Vegas, and I got 259+ hours played. Dunno what the big deal is.
[sp]also I kind of resent Bethesda now for how they treated obsidian from what i've heard of NV's development
a large amount of the issues are due to Bethesda not giving them nearly enough time to finish properly
that's not even mentioning the whole metacritic bonus thing[/sp]
I really hope Obsidian makes the next one, Fallout 3 didn't feel like a fallout game but elder scrolls with a fallout skin. New Vegas was more true to the lore and atmosphere of fallout.
These reasons for elder scrolls are pretty much why I want obsidian to do it
eh, new vegas was decent. But it lacked the narrative focus of fallout 3.
Yeah, it had pretty good narrative focus.
For the first hour. Then it just turns into a stilted "WHOOPS FIVE MINUTES TOO LATE" plot which is told in the worst way possible.
the new vegas story was worse than 3 imo
at least it had throwbacks to 1 and 2 though
NV doesn't even really have much of a plot to begin with, it's more like you drift from gunfight to gunfight learning about fairly interesting people, factions, places and the eponymous New Vegas, solving (or creating) problems and just generally having a blast as you cut a swathe across the violent Mojave Wasteland in whatever method you see fit.
With Fo3 however, it was very plot-focused, which really played against it. NV might have had a simple plot, but at least they didn't draw so much attention to it as Bethesda did.
I'm hoping it can be something like the graphics of Rage.
No, I know what you're thinking, Rage has one of the worst graphics etc. But I'm hoping that the next fallout will have graphics like the ones in the trailers.
Also, more open world. It'll be awesome to use vehicles and shit. Yeah, something like Rage will be nice.
Fuck, fallout 3 was all about the metro stations.
F3 is a terrible Fallout. NV is a good Fallout.
Every single "veteran" Fallout fan I know agrees with that.
I like how Fallout 3 messed up a lot of established Fallout canon.
F3 is a terrible Fallout. NV is a good Fallout.

it may be a terrible Fallout but it's a great game
I liked Three Dog well enough the first couple of times I heard him, but Christ, did he get annoying fast. But his station had the best music, so I had to bear with it.
Oh yeah and without a doubt Obsidian is better then Bethesda. Just look at Old World Blues.
Old World Blues, like every other New Vegas DLC, has its moments of glory but most of the time it's tedious as hell and made up of fetch quests.
The only truly decent NV DLC is Lonesome Road, but even it isn't great.
F3's DLCs on the other hand are solid for the most part, if buggy. Point Lookout is the best DLC out of all F3 and NV DLC's.
I like how Fallout 3 messed up a lot of established Fallout canon.
I haven't played any of the older Fallout games but what did Fallout 3 ruin?
Awww yeah. I always did like Three Dog. In NV I generally don't have the radio going at all, in 3 I would go to great lengths to give Three Dog more than 20 songs to play because he was fucking awesome to listen to.
On another note, I never really had much of a problem with bugs in New Vegas, and I got 259+ hours played. Dunno what the big deal is.

I've got nearly 600 hours into NV and I've encountered more bugs in just one game than I have in anything else on my Steam games list. It's a great game, but I've found the engine to be rather broken.

I'm hoping all games try to stop using repeating textures for landscapes.

You want to buy Fallout 4 preinstalled on a 120gb SSD then?
I've never really had any problems with NV in the 80+ hours I've played, mainly just the game crashing when i fast travel 1/50 times.
On xbox, on the other hand, the shit practically threatens to freeze up on you every few seconds.
I haven't played any of the older Fallout games but what did Fallout 3 ruin?
Well, the main thing is that the enclave are still operational even though the Chosen One kind of fucking annihilated them in a nuclear explosion.
And then there's stuff like how FEV is all over the country, but they're much less major than the plot of fallout 2 being completely fucking ignored.
Fallout has never been about a narrative. It's been about introducing this awesome setting and the organizations around it, and having you go through a characters journey, the main quest there, but in order to get to it, required you to do everything but the main quest.
eh, new vegas was decent. But it lacked the narrative focus of fallout 3.
Narrative focus is only good if the story and characters are interesting. Neither were in Fallout 3.
I hope it has some more color, I know its supposed to be barren, but that doesnt mean everything needs some brown/grey filter over everything.
The movement in fallout 3 felt so stiff also, fix that.
Well, the main thing is that the enclave are still operational even though the Chosen One kind of fucking annihilated them in a nuclear explosion.

Wouldn't say there oil rig was where all the Enclave were. There were many bases on the mainland, plus any teams out doing evil American things. But the way New Vegas handled the Remnants is the best way possible.
Bethesda Game Studios is way better at making a really interesting game world, there was so much to do and see in F3. I kind of disliked how the city was done and the metro system.
Mojave Desert on other hand just didn't feel so interesting, it was quite empty.
You want to buy Fallout 4 preinstalled on a 120gb SSD then?
I honesly wouldn't mind having 10 install disks if each part of the landscape was unique.
In such a situation there is no reason not to have multiple versions for example
V1 - small download, repeating textures
V2 - medium download, modest resolution unique megatextures.
V3 - bigass download, high resolution unique megatextures.
