just because a law doesn't effect you doesn't mean you can't be pissed about it

Because it's fucking terribly wrong you retard. Something doesn't have to affect you directly at that very moment for you to speak out against it.
Goddamn you are an idiot.

Again I'm not for this I'm just noticing how FP is blowing it totally out of proportion which is so typical on here it probably really isn't even worth mentioning.

It will never affect you and will probably never affect anyone you ever know so I'm not the idiot because I'm not acting like this is going to change life for the worse as we know it.

:allears:
Gee how nice it must be to be so ignorant
[editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
Let me guess you also support drumming up bullshit excuses to start wars with other countries with the ultimate goal of putting money in the pocket of interest groups and securing that country's resources for yourself?
Oh but that won't affect your life as you know it, so it doesn't really matter I guess
:allears:

I'm not ignorant because I'm well aware of it and what it does. I'm just not overreacting because I'm a normal person who actually has their own life and problems to deal with so they don't go into a panic over something like this.

you're kind of right but obama is still a prick for signing this

DOHOHO
losing an argument, quick play the "I have a life" card
You're equating posting on an internet forum to going into a panic. I'm not panicked at all. It doesn't affect me at the moment, I do have other shit in my life that is more directly worrying to deal with, but I deal with those, it doesn't stop me from expressing concerns here.
Obviously me pointing out that your country is on a very slippery slope makes you uncomfortable.

Do you even know what Fascism is? It gets really tiresome and annoying to hear people scream it and shout it over and over again in these kinds of arguments (just as it does when they do the same with Socialism, Naziism, Communism, etc.)
Do you even know what Fascism is?
Yes
Do you?

Not really I'm pretty chill about it which has been my entire point about it in this thread if you would read.
And I'm mainly speaking about the people who keep acting like it's the end of the world or some shit but if you want to be concerned over something that doesn't concern you that's not my problem
Yes
Do you?
Yes.
Why do you keep saying it like a broken record then if you know what it is? You can't fucking label everything under the sun that you disagree with as being Fascist. Or Socialist. Etc.
Yes.

Because people like you are too blind to acknowledge the various strongly fascist aspects of your society and government.
Although corporatism would be a more accurate term at this point.

Maybe we should stop providing aid to natural disaster victims, because hey, it doesn't affect you or anyone YOU know! That'll show them, right? I have my own problems to deal with, those guys don't deserve help!
Because people like you are too blind to acknowledge the various strongly fascist aspects of your society and government.
And people like you are too naive and quick to blurt out political insults at anything you disagree with. "IT'S FASCISM!" or "IT'S COMMUNISM!" or "IT'S SOCIALISM!". You sound as bad as the Republicans do.
Although corporatism would be a more accurate term at this point.
Good god man stop overreacting.

Those two are in two different leagues my friend. Natural disasters have caused devastation to hundreds of people lately while this Patriot Act has done pretty much fucking nothing which is my point.
:sigh:
Can't we ever just burn this bill? When it expires finally...I want the copy to burn with gasoline...

It's only been used in a handful of cases as it is, the reason being this is a serious matter that is not to be taken lightly. You'd think from how our fellow FP'ers are describing it the government is knocking down the doors of every foreigner in the country, arresting them, torturing them, and putting them in work camps for the rest of their natural lives- all whilst parading around in the streets in brown shirts to the tune of the Horst Wessel Lied... :colbert:

Watch out, because they'll continue to come slamming through as if this is the end of America.
When we all know it will be a SLOW PAINFUL death. IT won't die instantly they will torture, berate, tear apart and rape Lady Liberty until she commits suicide.
Obama or McCain and Palin.
Patriot Act would last forever.

Which is the better person to pick?
To my recollection, its always been "Who is the better candidate" not who is the best in the god damn fucking history of the United States.

The extension of the Patriotic Act allows further infringement of your privacy on behalf of your government, regardless of whether or not the actually have legitimate reasons to suspect you. Perhaps that doesn't matter to you; but many people want their civil liberties protected.

Tell me, why did America invade Iraq?

What in the hell has this got to do with President Obama extending the PATRIOT Act?
Or is this just another typical uncoordinated Internet forum political rant on your part?

And everyone was calling foul on that :v:
Except Congress and the Senate.

No you said the first one :v:

Pretty much. Afghanistan was understandable and was almost approved of unanimously; Iraq drew up a huge amount of controversy. And rightfully so, given that Saddam Hussein had no involvement with al-Qaeda.
I said corporatism
No- first you said Fascism. THEN you said Corporatism. Choose, please. Proves my point about the insults. You can't decide on what to go with. You sound, again, like the Republicans back during the election. Is Obama a Communist, a Nazi, a Fascist, or a Socialist? Please, pick one of these overly-dramatic slurs already.
The United States is not a Fascist nation. It has never been, and it won't be one anytime soon. Neither is it a Corporatist nation. The PATRIOT Act does nothing towards us, nor your average American. We still have our rights and freedoms as citizens; we are not (hard as this may be to believe) being watched over like the people of the dystopia of Oceania from 1984, we are not being indoctrinated like the Italians under Mussolini were, we are not having en masse arrests and beatings of foreigners, we are not creating death camps or work camps to enslave and exterminate them in, and we are not going on a march through the streets later today in brown shirts with swastikas galore.
Welp, here comes the shitstorm
