• What change? Obama personally signs PATRIOT ACT extension.

I believe Obama is a pretty smart guy, and has security advisors that he can trust. And if the advice they have given is that renewing these three parts will help the country, I can see why Obama would sign the legislation. Also, there is still another way of proving if the law is unconstitutional or not, through the courts.
Washington was one of the rich elite who owned slaves. Lets not have another one of those pricks. And he wanted Britain gone so he could take power.
The worst thing about Washington was that he was a terrible public speaker. Almost every wealthy person owned slaves at that era for farming purposes. and that quip about him wanting power is absolutely false, he was urged to run for office and his campaigners wanted him to be a fucking emperor.

Before then the US was pretty much ruled by the middle class then assholes like Washington, Madison, and Hamilton were like "Hey, we're the rich we should be running this shit."

I'd like to see a source on that because it just seems like you're pulling crap out your ass.
Here's the new boss, same as the old one.

I'd like to see a source on that because it just seems like you're pulling crap out your ass.
Lol, you believe what you learn in school about Washington? There was a lot of evidence of this in the Constitution as it was written. I.e. no direct election of Senators, and the Senate had all the powers that actually mattered while the House had practically no power. So basically the rich could be appointed to the Senate by their rich buddies. Letting people elect Reps was just a way to make it look like the people had any power over anything. Oh and the President still to this day isn't elected based on your votes. And don't forget that slaves are only 3/5 of a person.
It's all a Masonic conspiracy. :v: Did you know that if you fold a $20 bill just the right way it shows the Twin Towers burning?

Meanwhile, in reality, there were no shortage of mistakes in the constitution, most didn't have the foresight to see what would happen down the line. Look, it isn't right to idealize the American founders as demigods who could do no wrong, at the same time, it isn't right to reject them entirely as subhuman evil miscreants full of lust for power. If you actually read anything, you'd know, they never even wanted to found America in the first place. They kept trying to reason with Britain until they couldn't anymore, that's about the entire story in our founding. I'll agree that Hamilton was a gigantic asshole with taste for British imperialism, maybe Washington too, but he surely didn't want power. He could have been president all of his life but he ended it after 4 years because he didn't like it, he didn't like people like you hating him for every move he made and he didn't like people sucking his ballsack all the time so he would make concessions in their favor. The 3/5ths compromise was obviously not wanted by all people, that's why it's a fucking compromise. No, by today's standards it obviously seems horrible, but they were people of their time. Just like people in the year 2200 will peer back at our prison state and imperialism and call us evil fucked up assholes. Such is the redefining of history through human progress.

I learned the basic stuff in school, everything else I've read in independent books about the revolution. Congrats on looking like a conspiracy nut though.
The Patriot Act is a huge violation of constitutional rights, but Obama was under a load of pressure to extend it. If he didn't, the republicans would have more of a reason to stop whatever the democrats are doing, and vice versa; that would mean nothing would get accomplished. So it was basically the lesser of two evils um why is this bold i can't change it :( seriously try to reply to my post the tags aren't there sorry
The Republicans will stop whatever the Democrats are doing no matter what the Democrats do. Remember the Health Care bill? Obama and the Democrats caved so much that the law they finally passed was identical to what John McCain proposed. And still, not ONE Republican voted for it even after they made all those changes to make Republicans happy. Democrats have battered wife syndrome. The Republicans keep fucking them over, and every time the Democrats say "Oh it will be different this time, they really care and are trying to change!"
Honestly I'd rather have the Democrats in power then, considering they at least try to do better than the Republicans.
But they always fail, and end up doing the exact same thing the Republicans would have done.
Probably been posted, but he only re-signed three elements to it:
Just before the midnight deadline on May 26, 2011, President Barack Obama signed a 4-year extension of three key provisions in the USA Patriot Act: roving wiretaps, searches of business records (the "library records provision"), and conducting surveillance of "lone wolves" — individuals suspected of terrorist-related activities not linked to terrorist groups.
Those were the only parts that were going to expire. Basically he personally re-signed every single one of the parts that were in danger of expiring. "Civil liberties can suck my big black dick."
Quite a lot of hipsters on this forum. It's ridiculous to think that any president in this day and age would not extend the patriot act. I mean, what exactly has changed in the last couple of years that would cause you to believe it would go away? The democrats even said earlier this year that they were going to extend it to the end of 2013.
No- first you said Fascism. THEN you said Corporatism. Choose, please. Proves my point about the insults. You can't decide on what to go with. You sound, again, like the Republicans back during the election. Is Obama a Communist, a Nazi, a Fascist, or a Socialist? Please, pick one of these overly-dramatic slurs already. .
Yes, because every society is always an absolute of the politcal ideaology it follows :rolleye: Again, America may not be entirely fascist to the absolute of what the ideaology defines, but there are very strongly fascist aspects, just as there are very strong aspects of corporatism. To say otherwise would be blatant ignorance.
Sometimes people forget what reality is like and start to think the President Obama is better than President Bush II was. :sonia:
Pretty much. Afghanistan was understandable and was almost approved of unanimously; Iraq drew up a huge amount of controversy. And rightfully so, given that Saddam Hussein had no involvement with al-Qaeda..
Uhm aha ho boy Afghanistan was "understandable"? Here's a little exercise in critical thinking for you? Why did 9/11 happen in the first place? Hint: No it's not because a group of brown people hate amerikay and their way of life [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] Actually fuck it, don't bother replying, I'm done. Continue living in ignorance if you please
America attacking Afghanistan is like a little kid who throws rocks at a bee hive and then gets angry at the bees when they attack him. "These fucking terrorist bees! They hate my way of life! They hate my freedom!"
Yes, because every society is always an absolute of the politcal ideaology it follows :rolleye:
There is no political ideology to be followed in this country as you claim; we're a nation of many different ideologies and beliefs... that's inherent to our system of government and the rights and freedoms we are entitled to as citizens- designated by both the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Again, America may not be entirely fascist to the absolute of what the ideaology defines, but there are very strongly fascist aspects, just as there are very strong aspects of corporatism. To say otherwise would be blatant ignorance.
Not really, no. I challenge you, since you continue to claim that it's so Fascist, to highlight the elements that affect the country so strongly as you assert which are inherently Fascist in nature. Do the same for the Corporatist ones you keep ranting on about. What's blatantly ignorant is trying to drum up the false comparison that the country today is remotely anything like the country of Fascist Italy was under Mussolini clear back in the 1920s, 1930s, and early 1940s.
Uhm aha ho boy Afghanistan was "understandable"? Here's a little exercise in critical thinking for you? Why did 9/11 happen in the first place? Hint: No it's not because a group of brown people hate amerikay and their way of life
Are you seriously trying to suggest that the United States government and the Bush Adminstration were directly responsible for 9/11? That's what I gather from your little bit about "Hint: No it's not because a group of brown people hate amerikay and their way of life". Good god man your head is up in the clouds. This is going up on FSTDT.
Actually fuck it, don't bother replying, I'm done.
Well... I bothered replying anyway...
Continue living in ignorance if you please
So certain of your "brilliance"? Hilarious, given that this remark is coming from someone who apparently buys into the whole "9/11 WAS DONE BY THE GUVMENT" conspiracy...
Sometimes people forget what reality is like and start to think the President Obama is better than President Bush II was. :sonia:
Obama isn't nearly as bad as Bush.
Prison state? What?
We have the most prisoners in the known universe, I'd say that term fits nicely.
Sometimes people forget what reality is like and start to think the President Obama is better than President Bush II was. :sonia:
:wtc: do you seriously think Bush was better or just as good as president as Obama is?
We have the most prisoners in the known universe, I'd say that term fits nicely.
Being a 'Prison State' and being the country with the most people in prison are two very different things.
Ah the sickly smell of unrecognized fascism
Oh look, another idiot who thinks that lack of freedom in every regard is fascism.
