-snip got sniped-
a great cultural loss for the west
forgot this was the one that doesn't have the fighting, either way it still really doesn't matter, they've been able to publish these games fairly steadily even with the ongoing political climate [editline]24th November 2015[/editline] it has an english localization, this is a very last minute decision they made, japanese copies have perfectly functioning english language options hey you guys remember when bayonetta 2 didnt sell at all? heh yeah those were the days!
Bayonetta has more going for it than kick-boobies. We're talking about mario party mini games with anime girls.
considering the fact that they traditionally do better in the west, I wonder if this is more of an issue of them not wanting to be disrespectful towards western culture. the feminist backlash to these kinds of games is often the loudest and most public response that they get, and from the perspective of a japanese developer it may seem like most westerner's feel the way feminists do about these games.
to the people against the release of this it is the same thing, it really shouldn't matter it's not like kotaku having some "doa xtreme 3 is sexist" article is going to prevent someone who would already buy this from buying it
I am against a dumb ass game like DOA Xtreme but absolutely love Bayonetta and bought it like, three times so.... People loved Bayonetta and a lot of people even see her as a not bad example of sexualized women.
This is kind of hilarious. I was not aware that militant pseudo-feminists held this much sway in the gaming industry.
I was under the impression that Dead or Alive was a fighting game, and was about to say, "couldn't they just add a little more emphasis to the gameplay and a little less emphasis to the mostly nude women if they were concerned about a backlash over their female character design?" Then I Googled it. I legitimately did not realize that Dead or Alive had shifted from a fighting game to a masturbation aid. For those who may have made a similar mistake in judgment, as I did: Dead or Alive Extreme is apparently a game about dressing up women in increasingly skimpy bikinis and watching them lounge on the beach, dance, and play volleyball. The gameplay is the nude women.
I feel like it's silly that people target video games like this. If I were going to attack anything on the grounds of feminism it would probably be the porn industry. A lot of porn is produced in morally questionable ways, and brings harm to real women. This game is essentially just an erotic cartoon. It's pretty victimless. Why waste the energy?
yeah i mean there's a clear difference between the tasteful use of bayonetta's sexiness and doa's pretty obvious teenager-magnet type sex shit, but most people against the release of doa (if there even are that many who even care, considering koei are only doing this pre-emptively, with seemingly no real backlash from the dumblr community) would be against both by default anyway
I don't agree at all, I think that's presumptuous but I can see where you're coming from.
I still really, really don't get the fact that gruesome injuries, bones shattering, heads exploding, etc. are a-okay, but god forbid little Johnny sees some titty in his video game. Seriously, how can these people be so offended by things that almost everybody has? I've never bought a DOA game in my life and probably never will, but it's terrible to see them almost "bullied" into this sense of fear.

The gameplay is the nude women.
extreme is a spinoff series of beach minigames [editline]24th November 2015[/editline] meanwhile play asia (one of the biggest game importers out there) had dollar signs pop up in their eyes, offering DOA3 Extreme's english hong kong edition https://twitter.com/playasia/status/669343456423100416
#DOAX3 will not be coming to the US due to #SJW nonsense. However, we will have the English Asia version available: http://par.bz/87f
https://twitter.com/playasia/status/669343532683886592
Too sexist? I think you mean too sexy. #DOAX3
and what do ya know its 72$ + shipping
Who even cares at this point? Japan knows what's up; they don't have to deal with any of this nonsense. Just let them keep it there and those who care enough will get their hands on it anyway. We try to fight back, we try to counter-campaign, it just doesn't work. Streisand effect's in full swing when it comes to SJWs. Their crosshairs are fully fixed on this industry at the moment and any attempt to shoo those blood-sucking parasites away just gives them a villain to fight, because they certainly secured their place as the "heroes" of this story as far as mainstream media and the public are concerned. Just let apathy take over for the time being, because once these idiots stop finding people to argue with, they'll get bored and go onto their next pointless faux-movement to feel heroic about and the industry will slowly settle back into its normal state. These morons aren't going to leave any truly lasting change; they don't have the conviction to see it through. In time, we'll be able to go back to the true problem - corrupt games media personalities - and be careful not to let them sic the SJW crowd on us and befuddle the issue again.
im actually curious as to how many people buy these games from a physical store
rocco botte did
sjw are mad at play asia for selling doa3 extreme (shitstorm in the tweet replies here: https://twitter.com/playasia/status/669343456423100416 ) response from pa https://twitter.com/playasia/status/669358416461062144
咸到喊啦, or in English "crying from too much salt. Have you tried these?~~~ ┬┴┬┴| ω・)و ̑̑༉ kyaaa~
Why would publishers be afraid of being seen as sexist (by some people)? Genuine question because I don't see why they would refrain from releasing a game in the west only because of that.

No, no problems here, not censorship.
I personally don't care if the game comes out or not but I kind of raise my eyebrow over how people constantly talk about how devs should be able to do what they want, but the moment it's a choice like this, people lose their shit regardless - Surely you should respect their choice, whether or not you agree with it?
Why ignore the context and situation? That's like looking at youtube DCMA abuse and thinking it was the channels decision to close down a channel because they've been "stealing content" rather than looking at the situation and it's instigators.
I like that the top reply is from someone saying they'll use industry connections to punish playasia. No, no problems here, not censorship.
Perhaps thats why she's a former member of the gaming press. Dunno, maybe.
Fucking sjws being a cancer in the gaming industry. What am I supposed to jerk off to now? Porn or some bullshit like that? Mocking aside, DOX2 sold like hot dogshit on a summer day not only in Japan but overseas as well. Instead of blaming the sjws for censorship and yadda yadda, I think it makes more sense that DOAX3 is not being released in the west because why invest so much money for your product to flop once again?
Fucking sjws being a cancer in the gaming industry. What am I supposed to jerk off to now? Porn or some bullshit like that?
congratulations on deliberately missing the point

You can like...ignore the jiggle physics and play it like a normal game....I've done it that way with many games.

So the major roadblock for a Western release is gone.
Not that I care about this game or games like this in general, but I really don't like this out of a matter of principle. This game is clearly made for a very specific target audience, let their buyers buy it, it doesn't harm anyone.
