It's all because of the fucking Corey in the house and most of the disney shows like Hannah Montana. For the kids that watch it, that don't seem to find humour correctly.
The more you advertise a shitty looking movie, the less people want to see it. [editline]20th March 2012[/editline] Here's an example of good marketing: It's good because it makes the movie look much better than it actually is.
Hey, I really liked that movie.
Saw it over the weekend, the directing wasn't too bad but the writing was god-awful.

watch out the ice maker might rumble
The movie was fine, The marketing was terrible..Also i don't think naming the movie John Carter was a good idea either. Most people i mentioned the movie to never even heard of it or thought the title itself was stupid....Good movie though.
Saw it over the weekend, the directing wasn't too bad but the writing was god-awful.
The book is decent and you can get it on gutenberg
Good luck convincing another studio to ever make a sci-fi Mars movie again.

that quote in the middle just has to be absolute sarcasm. "believe the hype".
It's actually a pretty good movie. Not fantastic, but not bad either. Definitely lots of eye candy though.
I think when Disney tries to cater to a specific audience, they tend to fall short. Just about any company can shit out a "family movie." Disney and Pixar typically make masterpieces that appeal to people of all ages and demographics.
i didn't even know this movie existed until now
And James Franko is a good actor, but I have a hard time taking him seriously in any movie after he was in Pineapple Express. He's suffering from Tom Hanks syndrome.
Your just being sarcastic right? Because that isnt James Franco... come on bro give it a small amount of effort when you post.
Now this is how you make a trailer.
Huh... I saw it and thought it was alright. It may have not stayed perfectly true to the books but was good enough.
that quote in the middle just has to be absolute sarcasm. "believe the hype".
My 8 year old niece was pretty scared by it. [editline]20th March 2012[/editline] probably says a lot about the movie
I don't see what the big deal is..
I saw it and honestly it wasn't all that bad. The graphics were really nice and although the story was somewhat boring or hard to follow at times, it was an alright movie.
They keep advertising this movie everywhere. I'm tired as shit of hearing about it.
DVD alternate endings has green and red endings.
Any news on the DLC with the true ending?
Best trailer of all time:
Personally, I think Disney should just stop live action overall. And James Franko is a good actor, but I have a hard time taking him seriously in any movie after he was in Pineapple Express. He's suffering from Tom Hanks syndrome.
where the hell did you get james franko in all of this
It was an okay movie, but it seemed like it didn't know what direction to go in. At some parts it was violent and more geared towards adults, other times tried to be emotional, and would kick over to traditional Disney-style comedy for a few scenes here and there. Just seemed like it didn't know what it was trying to be. Tried out a whole bunch of things, wasn't exceptionally good at any of them.
Mars is uninhabitable in the first place soooooo...there's your problem ...
And then Disney makes it all back and more when The Avengers and Brave comes out
where the hell did you get james franko in all of this
That isn't? When I saw the trailer, that guy honestly looked like him.
That isn't? When I saw the trailer, that guy honestly looked like him.
I thought it was Franko for the first 10 minutes of the movie.
It was an average movie but by no means one that you should consider being a cinema blockbuster.
I went to see that movie with my sister, Never slept better in my life. :v:
What is the movie about? All I know about it is that theres some guy called John Carter from Earth, and nothing else...
This was the big issue, I saw lots of trailers on TV, it's just that the trailer just showed some very uninformative clips while quotes about it being "blockbuster of the year" and other nice sounding compliments come up I didn't even know what the story was about until I bothered checking the Wikipedia page for it
