The movie was fine, The marketing was terrible..Also i don't think naming the movie John Carter was a good idea either.
Most people i mentioned the movie to never even heard of it or thought the title itself was stupid....Good movie though.

I think when Disney tries to cater to a specific audience, they tend to fall short.

Just about any company can shit out a "family movie." Disney and Pixar typically make masterpieces that appeal to people of all ages and demographics.

I saw it and honestly it wasn't all that bad. The graphics were really nice and although the story was somewhat boring or hard to follow at times, it was an alright movie.

It was an okay movie, but it seemed like it didn't know what direction to go in.

At some parts it was violent and more geared towards adults, other times tried to be emotional, and would kick over to traditional Disney-style comedy for a few scenes here and there.

Just seemed like it didn't know what it was trying to be. Tried out a whole bunch of things, wasn't exceptionally good at any of them.

This was the big issue, I saw lots of trailers on TV, it's just that the trailer just showed some very uninformative clips while quotes about it being "blockbuster of the year" and other nice sounding compliments come up

I didn't even know what the story was about until I bothered checking the Wikipedia page for it
