Not a single Valve game on there.
And what moron picked Minecraft.
I cannot believe Mirrors Edge was not on there. Amazing artstyle.
Portal.
:colbert:
Probably not the best example but it gives the point across:

You didnt read properly. Portal is on there.
Whoops, must have skipped over it.
Because it started the shitstorm of mediocre multiplayer throwaway titles for consoles that get shitty ports for PC due to the overwhelming response of masturbation from the consolitis sufferers.
Mediocre? Halo 2 was pretty damn original at the time it came out, I remember searching for a Console FPS constantly that was like Halo, I couldn't find one like it. It completely changed online gaming for console FPSs as well. It also pretty much made Xbox Live successful for the original xbox, to the point where I think it's safe to say XBL wouldn't be the same without it. It did a lot for consoles, buddy. Get off of your PC high horse, you give the rest of us a bad name.
How the fuck did Half-Life not get on that list?!?
Sweet, Halo 2 made it. I grew up with that game.

Half-life isn't on there? That's odd.
Heavy Rain isn't a game, its a goddamn interactive movie. :argh:

People focus way too much on the fact it's a console game and the crowd that normally follows it, instead of the actual game itself which is very sad since Halo is honestly an original and well made series.

I still think the only reason people hate it is because it's a console game. Why else do the love CE so much and not the same game, just on a console.

It's probably the major reason.
So this is what Homeworld gets for revolutionizing 3D game play? Bah.
No portal 2 :smith:

uh
interaction is basically what defines the videogame genre
Portal but no Half-Life? what?
Portal but no Half-Life? what?
it's been repeated countless times, it lost to portal
So Brutal Legend and Minecraft got in but not HL1/2? I'm disappointed.

wow can you even read?
I read "the Bard's Tale" and immediately thought it was the hilarious, newer hack-and-slash, not one of the old adventures.
wow can you even read?
Yeah, I get it Portal beat Half life but it's stupid that shitty games made it on the list but not Half life. Instead of doing Portal over Half Life, they should have just put the Orange Box.
No portal 2 :smith:
For the last time. Portal 2 was not released when they were picking games for the vote. It still was not released when the vote happened. End of story.
As for Half Life 2, It did make it to the short list but we voted Portal instead of HL2

And there was no other modern PC slot for that genre.
What the hell? Battletoads didn't make it in :<
missing: katamari damacy, littlebigplanet, Assassin's Creed, Red Dead Redemption, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, any game in the smash bros series, Majora's Mask, Just Cause 2, TF2, Half-Life.
Other than that it's a pretty good lineup I think, I'm sure they'll add more within the decade.
edit: also noby noby boy, seriously
No Marathon or System Shock?
What the fuck.
It's funny how Halo 2 got in but not Halo: CE, (arguably) the best Halo to date.
I wonder how they're going to display exhibit them.
Halo fucking 2 better be up there. I'm glad.
I'm really glad Shenmue gets some recognition.
I wonder how they're going to display exhibit them.
They'll probably get one of each console, a TV for each, and cycle out the games they have going on a daily/weekly basis. Or they might just display static reels of their gameplay footage, since just putting a game like OoT or WoW and just having it there wouldn't be very functional.
