True dat [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline] Also I'm Canadian. The only difference in school quality (once you get above grade school, as the crippling weight of the U.S. population and language barriers weighs them down) is that we have to pay less, although U.S. smarties get LOTS in the way of scholarships unless you're applying to super ivy league schools or something
I'm Canadian and you're wrong. There are tons of scholarships for everybody not just straight A students if you look for them.. Canadian (BC Ed in specific) is amazing in comparison with US education in terms of career path and unique involvement.) I confirm Canadian education is far better to US education, if you were Canadian why did you move to a different country.. makes no sense.

ITT: Nationalist dumbshittery
Oh look, another one that thinks Canada is equivalent to the garden of eden.
Because in comparison with the rest of Earth it is.
Because in comparison with the rest of Earth it is. [editline]1st February 2012[/editline] Its not dumbshittery you're just jealous
Because I equivocate myself to my countries statistics. Just because you happen to be located in a country with a higher score, doesn't change anything about you as a person.
Because I equivocate myself to my countries statistics. Just because you happen to be located in a country with a higher score, doesn't change anything about you as a person.
If you country has a better education system you're bound to be better educated.
If you country has a better education system you're bound to be better educated.
are you being serious
are you being serious
Yes.
Yes.
Then you've just proven my point. Good day.
Then you've just proven my point. Good day.
This user thinks Ethiopians are better educated then Canadians. Good day.
This user thinks Ethiopians are better educated then Canadians. Good day.
Look up an Ad Hominem argument, because there is no way you already know what it means. Oh god you rated all my posts dumb. What will I do?
If you're in university in your current state, the less well ranked your country is, the better. less competition!
If you're in university in your current state, the less well ranked your country is, the better. less competition!
This is the more realistic mentality
The quality of University is lesser then that of the better ranked one. Derp?

While we may have some of the best universities in the world, I'm not looking forward to paying over fifty grand a year if I make it into Caltech.

We have, by far, the best universities on the entire planet. Our primary and secondary education may be inferior to some other first world nations, but there is no denying that the best College-University education, overall, lies here in the states.
Best and most expensive, I was talking about state-funded education not university.
You probably should have clarified that a long time ago. Not to mention there's a good explanation for why U.S. primary education looks so poor on paper. Our population is 10X yours for one, making funding and finding good teachers for all of those people a giant challenge. The fact that it does as well as it does is amazing.

Population should scale with the system if done correctly.
ITT national dickwaving about who is the smartest in the world
The quality of University is lesser then that of the better ranked one. Derp?
This isn't about quality of education, it's about sheer numbers. USA should not be this high, thought it is higher than what a lot people think it is.
And you also have to factor in that US four year undergrad degrees tend to be of lesser quality than those of out Canada, Australia and the UK, as far as I'm aware, despite being significantly more expensive.
dafuq? norway should be near the top if not at the top
dafuq? norway should be near the top if not at the top
I've heard this about four times in this thread. And I'm inclined to as why everyone seems to think this?
Number 10, motherfuckers.
And you think this why?
University professor told me this too, maybe he was bias who knows.
For the price, U.S degrees are obviously going to be inferior. I mean, where else in the world do you spend so much to get an education?
