or with Chrome it does it all for you just by logging into Chrome (same account as Gmail)
Works the same way in Firefox. Login to your Sync account and that's it.
I still think firefox is shit so OH WELL.
Proud firefox user since the day i knew there were other browsers than IE.

Must...resist...temptation to argue...
Chromium is widely considered to be the best rendering engine atm, even with it's flaws and web standards mess. Opera is switching to it for a reason
and now they're both moving to a new rendering engine if I remember correctly
It saddens me when version numbers go beyond 10, dick waving comes int he form of "which can best interpret a format standard", and a 15 year old half million dollar supercomputer cannot run a fucking web browser.
Firefox is taking up 800Mbs right now, it's already been a huge memory hog.
Ten tabs, almost half that. What the heck are you doing?
That's great, now can it stop being a resource hog and crashing? I am willing to sacrifice some speed for stability
Netscape is the true web browser
Both aren't really the best that a browser can be. Once Chrome is broken, for me it stays broken and forces me to switch. Once Firefox breaks I can tweak it... albeit with some annoyance. There's never a really smooth browser that doesn't hang or let settings be altered without you knowing.
Honestly the one that works for me best is IE. Given that I like the UI of Firefox better though, I use it. I can take a few hiccups/freezing here and there for useability.
Ten tabs, almost half that. What the heck are you doing?
Generally for me it starts taking around 800MB at around midnight if I've had it on since 8AM that day.
Still firefox crashes for me constantly. I would move to chrome but I just can't get to like the layout.
I have chrome open with 9 tabs and it's using 900mb of ram, I think this is starting to get worse than firefox.
or with Chrome it does it all for you just by logging into Chrome (same account as Gmail)
I said Firefox synch before any of that other stuff :D
I have 8 gigs of RAM and I'd be fucking pissed if anything, spare a game, used that much RAM on me.
Windows uses 1.2 gigs of ram on a good day. Delete windows.
How is Chrome with the whole "open a second tab and Chrome shits itself" thing?
???
I love Firefox, but I've grown used to Chrome.
fuck
I have 8 gigs of RAM and I'd be fucking pissed if anything, spare a game, used that much RAM on me.
That's a really ambivalent thing to say. [editline]1st July 2013[/editline]
Still firefox crashes for me constantly. I would move to chrome but I just can't get to like the layout.
Start Firefox in safe mode. I'm willing to bet it's because you have installed a quadrillion addons, a few billion of which don't work since Firefox 2.
Woah shit, I should really switch to Opera Next. I'm kinda attached to Opera tho, it feels "comfy".
Start Firefox in safe mode. I'm willing to bet it's because you have installed a quadrillion addons, a few billion of which don't work since Firefox 2.
Nope just the basic stuff like adblock, noscript and greasemonkey
Is 800 MB really a "huge memory hog" for you?
Even if you have 8GB of ram, that's 10%, and that's absolutely ridiculous for a web browser.
Even if you have 8GB of ram, that's 10%, and that's absolutely ridiculous for a web browser.
Chances are if you have 8GB of RAM and your browser is using a tenth of that you aren't doing anything else that will take up the other 90%
chrome is terrible
Honestly, firefox may take a while to get up, but it goes like the wind and as smooth as silk no matter the number of tabs once it's going.
How is Chrome with the whole "open a second tab and Chrome shits itself" thing?
?
ie6 is dominate
As a web developer... Fuck off.
Opera 4 lyfe.
and now they're both moving to a new rendering engine if I remember correctly
IIRC, they forked Webkit and named it Blink. Does Apple still own webkit, actually?
Wait, FP detects Opera Next as Chrome.
