A friend of my family had something pretty similar happen to him. He was diagnosed with lymphoma when a few months later his wife told him she was having an affair and she wanted a divorce. In the divorce proceedings she got the house, so he moved back into his parent's home. He's in his early 50s, too, so it's difficult to just get back up and start over. Shit sucks.
